a usual tried and tested modus operandi of the terrorists which they have employed with repeated success.

one is that they attack a remote outpost and setup an ambush for the relief party to arrive.
other is that they wait for the forces to relax and start returning to base and then launch their attack.

my brother attended the funeral of an SSG personnel who got shot in the back of the head right after his team was concluding an operation and just started driving back to base.

I stopped counting the number of times same method of ambush and counter attacks were used by BLA and TTP and the word "surprise" became an insult.

yes we cant tell the ground realities from the comfort of our sofas and chairs but there are procedures in place to train the soldiers to counter these scenarios. if calling in a gunship helicopter is not seen as "feasible" as the number of people under threat is not "significant" then there is a cost saving solution and that is armed drones to provided the eye in the sky with a sting. armed drones or gunship helicopters can turn the tables on the ambushing terrorists or at least drastically reduce or prevent the deaths of our troops.

we are dealing with smart enemy that has experienced tactical operators overseen by professional planners. such incidents will continue to happen as long as the forces don't adapt the counter strategy. the repeated attacks on bases have subsided because after multiple attacks the authorities did adapt and put extra measures in place but it seems that a much bigger number of soldiers need to lose their lives before new SOP and countermeasures are adapted in the training to thwart the counter attacks, ambushes and reprisals during responding, extraction recovery and RTB.
rest in peace to the dead soldiers.

So terrorist are having a field day everyday in Balochistan

3.5 hours.... an Fighter can take off from any base and hit the terrorists... we need more like A-10 or drones for that..

50-60 people popping out of no where near Iran border, and no suspicions on Iran?
While it seems our security institutions are not coordinating with each other.

So terrorist are having a field day everyday in Balochistan
As in words of Imran Khan, when fish start to smells it's always the head which is rotten!

In this case, the engagement was with drug traffickers / drug dealers instead of terrorists. ANF had captured couple of vehicles full of drugs. These drug traffickers / drug dealers then tried to get vehicles freed but could not.

@Foxtrot Alpha Title of the thread may be changed since no terrorists were involved.

Does it matter Janab when the end result is for Pakistan losing brave men of the soil, terrorism or otherwise.

Purely from the reader's point of view, I think it does matter. Someone scrolling through the thread list may find that there are terrorists attack everywhere. Change of title signifies that terrorism is not the only threat being faced by our forces.

From another perspective, the one you are highlighting, it doesn't matter. In that case, I agree with you.

Can we just... Go full USA on them?

So many Pakistanis have lived a whole life - Childhood, preparing to enter the adult world, working and training hard - just to die because of negligence?

actually, this meets the definition of a Terrorist attack or Terrorism in Pakistan's ATO 1999.
For Social media i have amended the description but for same of forum discussion we will let it be Terrorist attack as it does indeed falls into the category...
your ordinary smugglers won't bother to launch a counter attack with 50-60 personnel and keep the ANF pinned...Mashkel area is known hotspot for BLF
