I know you're of the meek Southern temperament and can count on the fact that you'll stay away from "big, scary" India all your life. Let me just tell you one thing. By 2080, your kids will be fully-fledged Australians married to other Australians, looking down upon your religion which they'll automatically associate with castes and cow-loving.
The problem with you folks is you've spent a lifetime bending over to all sorts of things. Monkeys, trees, rocks, bananas etc. You've automatically begun to associate such an act to praying/worshiping to the object in question. That's not the case.
