WASHINGTON -
A 39-year-old woman and her 53-year-old husband are celebrating what he calls a shot of destiny.
Yaleni and Warren Begazo, both born in Peru, but living in Wheaton, Md., now, have twins -- a girl born at 11:58 p.m. on December 31, 2013 and a boy born at midnight on January 1, 2014.
Warren says he is full of joy and energy at this incredible event in his life. His wife, who speaks very little English, says she is tired, but happy.
Her husband's 18-year-old son, Dylan, from a previous marriage, says he always wanted to have brothers and sisters when he was younger.
He says he can already tell the twins apart. His father says he can too, saying, "Lorraine cries a lot. She's more active." He says Brandon is quieter, sleeps through the night and "looks like sleeping beauty."
So, how will they celebrate the twins' birthdays in the future? Warren says his plan is to have two cakes. He will bring one out just before midnight, and the other just after midnight, so they can have just one party.
