ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi addressed on Friday the inaugural ceremony of Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) project in Serhatabad, Turkmenistan.

During his address, the premier appreciated President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamadov for converting a mere gas pipeline project into an energy and communication corridor.

“This is a momentous occasion, we are turning TAPI into reality,” said PM Abbasi. “It recreates historical linkages for the region.”

Will this pipeline end in India?

If yes, then why is not mentioned on that map? Is that a selective map?

.
Another desperate American project doomed to fail.

The Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) project, is a natural gas pipeline being developed by the Galkynysh – TAPI Pipeline Company Limited with participation of the ADB. The pipeline will transport natural gas from the Galkynysh Gas. Field in Turkmenistan through Afghanistan into Pakistan and then to India. Construction on the project started in Turkmenistan on December 13th, 2015.

The pipeline will be 1,420 millimetres (56 in) in diameter with a working pressure of 100 standard atmospheres (10,000 kPa). The capacity will be 33 billion cubic metres (1.2 trillion cubic feet) of natural gas per year of which 5 billion cubic metres (180 billion cubic feet) will be provided to Afghanistan and 14 billion cubic metres (490 billion cubic feet) to each Pakistan and India. Six compressor stations would be constructed along the pipeline. The pipeline is expected to be operational by 2019.

Originally, the cost of the pipeline project was reportedly estimated at US$7.6 billion, but a more recent estimate was $10 billion. The leading partner of the project is Türkmengaz.

Pipeline ends at border of Pakistan / India. If they pay the transit fee they will get the gas.

Mashallah, four brotherly countries
My "mashallah" only extends to Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan. India is no no. If they build a pipeline to India I will personally come and light a match.

And by the way this TAPI is just a pipedream - no pun intended. Not going to happen. As much as Chah, Chah is not going to happen. Talking of Chah I need a drink of nice hot Chai.

Sorry for repeating that screenshot but it says it all my friend. It's already planned. IMHO it's a good project, seriously, it can reduce tensions in that area.

  • TAPI is not going to happen because there is no peace in Afghanistan. Gas pipes and wars don't mix well. No investor would wager a dollar on a gas pipe that runs through Afghan warzone.

  • Chah Bahar is not going happen [happen meaning a serious port of routing Indian good to CA] because Trump will not alow it. US and Israel do everythng to prevent any enefit to Iran. And they are not going to let their darling Modiu reward Iran. That is a fact. Modi will not lose Trump/Netanayu for Iran.

And if he does he is more dumber then he looks.

Taliban expressed support for this pipeline. It may actually happen.
Yes, they did but unless this project is financed by governments of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan I would be surprised if private capital would take the risk when the "support" comes from a group that is regarded as terrorists/insurgents in a international warzone.

:lol:... I think Gangadesh herself won't be comfortable with a pipe line passing through Pakistan. Furthermore, after their idiotic opposition of CPEC, it does not make sense to facilitate them at all.
