Boron - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

72% of world Bor reserves in Turkey

Bor is used in many industries and research is being made for it to be used in different industries.

what is this? what is this used for?

Bor bilmiyon? Bor madenleri .

Its a very important mineral used for many things.

Examples

Boron shielding is used as a control for nuclear reactors, taking advantage of its high cross-section for neutron capture.

It is used in tank armor, bulletproof vests, and numerous other structural applications.
Boron carbide's ability to absorb neutrons without forming long-lived radionuclides (especially when doped with extra boron-10) makes the material attractive as an absorbent for neutron radiation arising in nuclear power plants. Nuclear applications of boron carbide include shielding, control rods and shut-down pellets. Within control rods, boron carbide is often powdered, to increase its surface area.[

Its used in so many things , from glass to nucleur to armour. Please check Wikipedia and other source.

------------------------------------------------------

Boron minerals are versatile chemical mineral materials. They are used in the manufacture of borax, boric acid and elemental boron. Boron is indispensable in glasses, metallurgy, medicines, porcelain enamels, paints, daily chemicals, agriculture and defense industry. Therefore the development and utilization of boron resources have played a more and more important role in the development of modern industry.

If Turkey reaches his hand to these reserves, imperialists will cut that hand immidiatly (in the sense of economy). This is why we cant do anything.

This mineral's importance is overestimated in Turkey as far as i know.

We already are exporting them.

Yes and No . If we find more things it can be used ( being researched ) it can be very , very important , but its not how much some people hype over.

Eti Maden ??letmeleri

2000’li yıllarda kapasite kullanımı %60 seviyelerinde iken bugün %100 seviyelerine çıkarılmıştır.
Bor kimyasalları ve eşdeğeri ürün üretimi 2011 yılında 1,8 milyon ton olarak gerçekleşirken, 2012 yılında 2,1 milyon ton olması beklenmektedir.
2016 yılında bor kimyasalları ve eşdeğeri ürün kapasitesinin 3,2 milyon tona, 2023 yılında ise 5,5 milyon ton olması hedeflenmektedir.
Eskişehir/Sivrihisar Toryum sahasında Toryum ile birlikte, Uranyum, NTE (Nadir Toprak Elementleri), Seryum, Lantan, Neodyum, Barit ve Florit işletme izinleri bulunmaktadır.

Sahada %37,44 CaF2, %31,04 BaSO4 ve %3,14 NTE tenörlü 30.358.268 ton tüvenan kompleks cevher rezervi (görünür+muhtemel) tespit edilmiştir.
Yatağın cevher içeriği ise; 11.366.135 ton Fluorit, 9.424.424 ton Barit, 953.587 ton NTE (CeO2+La2O3+Nd2O3), 8.612.182 ton gang minerallerine tekabül etmektedir.
10 yıl süreyle yılda 10.000 t/yıl NTE ve buna bağlı olarak 250 ton/yıl Toryum, 72.000 ton/yıl barit ve 70.000 ton/yıl florit üretimi Hizmet Alımı Yöntemiyle gerçekleştirilecektir.

Projenin gerçekleşmesi halinde, 2011 yılı fiyatlarıyla yılda yaklaşık 1 milyar dolar satış hasılatı elde edilecektir.

Where and by which company?
We already exporting them. why doesn't they cut the hand from us? You don't know anything what you are talking about. The whole is not conspiring against us.

I just said by which country. If you dont have a answer on this you must be quite.

The main problem Turkey has is that we're only exporting raw bor, so we're just selling raw materials, and the market price of raw material is not very high. if we could treat it and turn it into something useful then sell it we'd more than quadriple the price.

just like selling raw oil and refined oil. I think in Turkey we don't have enough industry that makes use of it, which is also why we're selling it as raw. Such a waste of good ressources.

@Saithan, the problem is; bor has hundereds of appliances and we cant produce them all.
