I think it's sad news. I think it's necessary to have a nuclear power plant to further advance our knowledge in the field.

. . .

He's trying very hard to sound objective at the start, but the last 2 paragraphs are a shit show and he's off the rails there. The article points out that nothing the Turks hold dear can be trusted and all Turkish values (be it religion, nationalism or patriotism) are the root of all that is evil and RACIST.

Ironically though he's not self aware enough to realize that the article itself is incredibly racist towards the Turks and the Turkish culture.

All in all, I've read better posts written by edgy teenagers on reddit, it's a piece of crap at best.

Has Erdogan any plan to divide Turkey in federal states?

Not yet, but I'm willing to bet he'll try something around 2023. Maybe mask it with "at a 100 years old it's time to upgrade our democracy" etc.

Give Kurdistan and Lazistan autonomy after that you basically give the greenlight for independance to these places.

Next the Circassians will demand stuff.

After that you have a Turkiye that is divided into different ethnic groups.

If Erdogan does this he should be impeached.

Turkiye was founded and made by the Turks. Either Non Turks accept it or they can feel free to leave.

Good, now instead of wasting tens of billions on a nuclear power plant Turkey should invest it in renewable energy and energy efficiency.

The problem is way easier to solve than what is thought, but sadly even way more illogical and absurd to solve.

The second part is mostly due to the current ''deals'' and ''leverage''... some clue,if interested, waits in the current energy projects, and in the end...comes down to the one and only conclusion, which is interests of some is above the country and nation.

Yes, he does.

Boris Yelsin's Russia could shed some lights for today, and post-Yeltsin era is for tomorrow of Turkey.

Agreed, having regional parliaments with some authority wouldnt hurt anyone. Except if it turns into something like the KRG in Iraq, or Catalonia in Spain etc. In the current political environment not exactly what we need.

The idea of ''Federalism'' is against the human nature and existance, and the spirit of State; as your example of Iraq along with many older examples have repetitively proved, even the biggest cheerleader of micro singularity, the Capitalist/Liberal mentality, is in the quandary right now.

Given the environmental changes looming, The utopia of the federalism will die, leaving the cheerleader to find another hook.

I also support federalization (no, I was fiercely against it, but after seeing how pathetic and weak our supossed-to-be-strong government actually is, things have changed).

But not to forget, only countries with very week foundations need federations. It means that the government is too incapable of being able to apply necessary economic reforms due to its huge dependency on populism and its massive fear of uprisings.

Again, only very weak and unstable countries have this problem. None of the dictatorial or extremely authoritarian countries have this problem.

So how would having multiple states in our country help?

The biggest benefit would be tax-wise (but of course because AKP is far too weak and far too populist -aka communist- maybe they couldnt even dare to do this at all despite its very low risk of ruining popularity).

What would be done is essentially letting states have any kind of taxation system they please, in any rate and combination, while the federal gov having only one tax:State Income Tax.

What this would do is essentially letting communist states have only high income and corporation taxes whereas states that actually care their future having only a flat consumption tax.

Under this scheme the socialist and communist states would eat themselves out while losing all their educated, intelligent and experienced folks to the capitalist states. Companies too would flee those regressive (aka socialist/communist) states to capitalist ones.

And also, due to having only a flat consumption tax having a very high tax burden on poor people, those unqualified, uneducated, dumb wastes of oxygen would flee capitalist states to socialist/communist ones. This too would increase the efficiency and thus competitiveness of capitalist states while dramatically ruining the competitiveness of leftist states.

Left states would turn into venezuela where everyone is equally poor, while capitalist ones would become the miniatures of South Korea.

Natural selection would prevail, effectively adding lots to our country's GDP!

And about the only federal tax of a flat state income tax.. The Ankara government would effectively get a specific share of all the tax revenue every state makes a year!

A 50% state income tax would mean that the socialist state governments would have to give half of the income/wealth tax they apply on their residences, while the capitalist states would have to give half of their flat consumption tax income to the federal government.

This way the federal government would have no impact on the nature the states want themselves to be like!

No, it’s exactly what you need. Power corrupted, and Erdogan has to much power. This could cut his power significantly.

Also, whats "de-turkefying" Turkey is not some conspiracy. Its falling birth rates of your women----which Erdogan calls again and again to improve. Turkish women needs to have 3 children on average. Work towards that if you truly want to avoid the fate of Europeans and whites in the U.S.

If not, then continue posting whatever bs you like on forums. Nothing else would matter.
And you think the women will suddenly give birth to children just because someone makes an appeal? Life in Turkey is expensive with Children its hard to live why would someone want 3 children under these circumstances? Erdogan should increase people life standarts instead of giving orders. People struggle with buying meat and other groceries and you speak about having more children.

That’s one aspect and definitely should be worked on. However, let’s not kid ourselves.

You think life is Germany or US or Japan or Korea or France is very bad too, bc their fertility rates are way down as well.

It’s a cultural thing too. Which you folks have to fight against and keep your culture family and marriage oriented. Don’t become “lazy” and “relaxed” in the times of peace and prosperity. Keep your survival instincts alive.

Turkey should promote a culture of healthy fertility rates which includes better economics, more social safety net for families, AND values/culture geared towards families and communities rather than individuality and hedonistic “fun” that makes a society socially weak over time (example: West, Korea, Japan etc).

Even a 2.2-2.5 TFR will be enough for Turkeys long term survival and great power status, if not 3 TFR that Erdogan uncle preach
