This is a big pile of BS.in all of Europe,Western world the media criticizes the goverment constantly. There are pro and anti establishment outlets.
Says a Romanian guy. I have been watching Danish and German news from childhood. Name me Danish or German TV channels whose only purpose is demonizing the government.

.
Now that I am a person who is born and raised - and lives in Europe, I can tell you that media in my country has always only served government interest. There are no media against the established government.
It's true that today in Turkey we have less media constantly demonizing the government compared to 2 years ago. I hope this number will further decrease, since demonizing a government deliberately should be totally illegal on public TV stations. Criticism is always welcome.

I always appreciated constructive criticism. In some media channels like Habertürk and CNN (Ahmet Hakan) you do have government critical perspectives being raised. And I appreciate that.

About the pilots, it's better to have less treason and less pilots than more treason and more pilots. It is well documented that alot of F-16 firepower were wasted on mountains and deserts where we thought they were roasting terrorist rats.

Turkey in its whole is going through hardships due to our properly screw€d neighbors and FETÖ's deliberately demonization of the government in the domestic scale (up until some months ago) as well as in the international media. And when there were so much treason going on, of course the state must take extraordinary decisions in these extraordinary conditions. The state must protect its sovereignity, and that cannot be done when you subsequently have traitor news whose only serving one purpose -> bringing down Erdogan.

I can promise you if any other European country (or civilized country) were going through similar events likeTurkey, they would be much harsher.

Sorry, but you keep pointing the finger towards others, thats way to easy.

Name me one channel in Germany that is constantly praising the government. That goes both ways.

I'm not familiarised with Denmark, but German press is as free as it gets, Merkel is criticised. In the UK the Guardian is constantly anti conservatives. And yes, says a Romanian guy,we have press constantly criticising those in power constantly.Cheer for Erdogan all you want but don't compare the civilised world with the authoritarianism in today's Turkey.

Where in my post did I ever say that European media doesn't criticize government?

If you read my post carefully you will find that I actually prefer constructive criticism.

Since when does "constant criticism" becomes a motive for arrest ? Don't get me started at the "PKK AND Gulenist" sympathising accusations, that sounds so 1933.I'm surprised they didn't throw ISIS in there for dramatic effect.

I have not pointed fingers in my post. I merely gave an overview to your allegations.

ARD, ZDF, NDR, RTL. List is long.

I'm not watching NDR (only available in the north) or RTL (dumb mens TV). But I dont agree with ARD/ZDF. Watch some of the political discussions there and you'll see that they have usually guest representing all sides. They invite pro-Erdoganists too when its about Turkey for example.

Axel Springer Verlag is the only Media group that is more or less clearly positioning itself as pro CDU. Ms. Springer and Merkel go to each others birthdays and such.

I haven't stated that there are no criticism against government in German news. I love when all parts are represented, and a fruitful debate progresses.

My point is in Turkey we had many TV stations whose sole purpose of existence was to demonize the government and especially Erdogan. Such event is scarcely seen or non-existent in Europe afaic.

Bro, we have numerous channels that are in the hands of people who are close to Erdogan and praise him non stop and all of them show all of his speeches, whether he's opening a bridge or a little factory somewhere.

If thats your argument than I would argue that there are more channels (and the bigger ones) that are pro Erdogan than against him. I mean how many people are watching Halk TV? How many watch ATV?

.
Theres nothing to sugar coat about whats happening right now, Cumhuriyet is being accused of supporting gülen and pkk at the same time, i mean seriously it doesnt even make sense.

I confirm that today we have more pro government TV stations than anti. And I think it's only natural to decrease the amount of ultra hatred against government, it's only feeding our real enemies.

Well Gülen had ties with PKK, we can't deny that.

The point is all the gülen thing is developing into a direction where things get really dirty, its enough to accuse someone with collaborating with gülen to get rid of this person.

I am surely against jailing individuals without legitimate evidence.
But! This must also be said, if there are enough validation that an individual has ties&links to a terror organization or if an individual deliberately is leaking confidential information against state sovereignty or security these individuals should be detained.

@what

Bro, i'm somehow neutral about Cumhuriyet....You know they say "We are Çağdaş, Cumhuriyetçi, Laik, etc...."

But all these times one thing always struck my eye.

You know we spell PKK as Pekaka;

And you also know that PKK members and their sympatizans spell as Pekeke.

When you look at the articles of Cumhuriyet.

"PKK'yi" it should have been PKK'yı.
http://www.cumhuriyet.com.tr/haber/siyaset/531239/PKK__AKP_nin_bir_gucu_yok.html

PKK’den it should have been PKK'dan.
http://www.cumhuriyet.com.tr/haber/turkiye/559458/PKK_den_saldiriya_iliskin_aciklama.html

"PKK'li" it should have been PKK'lı.
http://www.cumhuriyet.com.tr/haber/turkiye/487398/PKK_li_Duran_Kalkan_dan__Mart__uyarisi.html

Among mainstream media, you can only see this pronunciation in Cumhuriyet.
