This agreement with Libya is a historic one as it marks Turkey’s first EEZ deal with a littoral country except for Turkish Cyprus. Thus, it defines the western borders of Turkey’s EEZ in the eastern Mediterranean. Agreement will increase Turkey’s continental shelf in the said area by around 30 percent.

already in progress. it just kept hush-hush. turkish advisers are in Libya since months. I expcept more direct turkish involvment soon, like visit of turkish navy to Tripoli or few another bombings of Haftart bases like Jufra.

So you see, Libyans in Tripoli are Arabs too. But they are pro-Turkey. Infact one of the reason for UAE/Saudi/France support for Haftar is close relationship between Turkey and UN recognized goverments of Libya. Similiar case is in Tunisia, which since revolution start building strong relationship with Turkey, and now with Nahda winning ht parlament, and new conservative president which doesnt like much saudi/UAE bullying, esspecially cause they backed his advisieries, and party of former tunisian dictator Ben Ali. Turkey has a chance to come back to the North Africa after a century, and push or diminish France's hold on that region for the firts time in over 100 years. Which means, lots of potential friendly coast thru out Meditterain.

Hm... if island have eez as Greece says, why don’t we just build our own island in the right location. Sure it’ll cost a lot of money, but the territorial gain is worth it.

Hm... if island have eez as Greece says, why don’t we just build our own island in the right location. Sure it’ll cost a lot of money, but the territorial gain is worth it.

That is basically Chinese strategy in S China Sea. Turkey has a far easier option, you have the Kastellerizo island just metres from your coast. I have been there, you should just have annexed it decades ago, it would completely solve the area that you are claiming.
