One private shipyard was wasted because of political reasons.
The rest weren't capable of building it, naval shipyards provide asistance to all private shipyards for building and integration of the systems when needed.
1st ship of istanbul class is on naval shipyard, the rest (3) will be built by one or multiple shipyards. Same procedure will repeat for TF2000.

When I first saw the headline I was like wtf?!
This is what happens when authors and our defense industry "experts" are alien to naval-maritime terminology. Or they hesitated to use term "escorts" :)
It becomes strange, we start to define our signature milgem project as subsidiary of LHD project.

Wouldnt it make more sense to expand the upcoming fleet of i-class frigates ? 4 seems to be rather low. 6-8 would make more sense.

Ada class corvette 2400 t and Istanbul class frigate 3000 t. I was thinking our Navy would want more than 4 of each.

@ANMDT could you on a map of Mavi Vatan show where Ada and Istanbul class would be active ? I was thinking a circle showing their operational range would show us if we've covered our EEZ.

I was thinking Libya (GNA) would need some vessels to cover their EEZ as well.

.
8 g-class and 8 barbaros to replace so something doesnt add up here with the i-class frigates, another point is that the i-class frigates themself are 3000t which is rather low on displacement.

Is on top of the i-class frigates and tf-2000 destroyer another vessel type planned?

-6-7 TF-2000 to replace Gabya, at least 2 will be used for Expeditionary group.
-4 Barbaros class will be upgraded, will serve 15 years more.
-4 İ-class to replace 4 Yavuz Class.
In terms of firepower the fleet is already expanding.
After TF-2000 we may expect to hear another project, a compact version with multi-role abilities.

We could acquire OPVs, simply an Ada-class sized platform with lighter sensors and arms. Private shipyards/design offices offer some good OPV designs based on earlier experiences (from 70 to 90 meters). OPV is a perfect platform to secure EEZs, an OPV costs 1/8th of a frigate (or even lower depending on its configuration). OPVs will relieve load of frigates/corvettes to escort drill ships or other economical operations in EEZs.

A ship doesn't have limited range as long as it is supplied, but its capabilities can be restricted due to sea state, the only concern would be maintenance schedule and crew's health. @Neptune could tell better if there are other matters to limit a ship's operation. But from my perspective considering naval bases on Aegean and Mediterranean seas we don't have any issues about covering our EEZ.
I think if situation in Libya is resolved, we could suppy them with patrol boats, OPVs and coast guard ships.

And when can we expect to have these 6-7 tf-2000 destroyers fully in service?

2026-2027* for the first, all will be in service by 2033. Now, project also depends on the schedule of surface to air missiles.
*It could have been earlier but we will need to conduct tests with the first ship and it will cost some years.

So 7 TF-2000 (+7k t), 4 I-class (3k t) in the long run. There will be defintive a 3rd and maybe 4th type of vessel as well if they dont plan to aquire more i-class Frigates because all g-class and barbaros vessels by then will be outdated even with the upgrades.

The OPV makes sense because there wont be a need to play around with the greeks with the tf-2000 destroyers/I-class frigates. There is also a huge gap between the I-class Frigates and the TF-2000 Destroyer in terms of displacement and thats where a MPV version of the TF-2000 could fit in.

Barbaros class will serve until 2040 probably, the planned MLU modernization is some serious stuff do not underestimate it.

We develop new ships and we have to work for innovation . I have an idea for our ships. Like every navy ,we use close in defence systems against for antiship missiles and others .
If a missile cant defeated by them ,why we dont integrate a sytem like akkor(ship version)to limit the damage.May be hitting antiship missile very near to the ship may cause damage but can secure from sinking.
