Found an interesting read about Spain wanting to replace their 18 Harrier with F35B (I doubt there can be more than 6-7 at a time on the ship though).
https://www.defensenews.com/global/...s-for-the-f-35-despite-european-fighter-push/

Juan carlos can carry 1 squadron of harriers/f35 so thats quite a lot actually

Notes:
Aircraft composition: Pure combat: 25 AV-8B/F-35B + 6 flight deck parking spots

Mix: 11 AV-8B + 12 NH90 + 6 flight deck parking spots

Pure transport: 25 NH90 + 6 flight deck parking spots

The picture belongs to test section of the cavitation tunnel, it is not PMM.
The PMM is attached on model basin's carriage.
Both PMM and Cavitation tunnel are being funded within the same project called KATMANSIS. (kavitasyon tüneli ve manevra sistemi)
TDMS and PMM makes the whole of the project on maneuvering part.
Actually this project has secrecy. I don't know how these images are leaked, or ITU NOVA can make news about it.

The Tracking Mode Maneuver Test System (TMDS), supported by SSB, is a ship hydrodynamic test system established at ITU.
Next step is building a larger test basin to conduct maneuvering tests (instead of lakes) of surface vessels and submarines.

Detailed progress of katmansis project:

PMM can be seen in SSB's catalog (the image belongs to smaller version of PMM built as prototype,the actual one is larger):

more detailed information related to KATMANSIS ,and ISATAR (project related to underwater acoustics of submarines) can be read in here (in turkish):

The U.S. Department of Defense signed a contract with the U.K.-based defense company BAE systems for the development of the MK-41 Vertical Launch System (VLS), the Pentagon said in a statement Tuesday, which also includes Turkey’s orders that are to be used on "I Class" frigates of the Turkish Navy.

The statement said that some 68% of the $42.8 million contract belongs to the U.S. Navy while 11% is from Japan, 6% each from Australia, Norway and the Netherlands and some 3% belonging to Turkey.

While it has not yet specified how many of the MK systems that are used in the transportation and launching of missiles will be produced, the production will be completed in July 2023.

The design of the MK systems belongs to the U.S.’ Lockheed Martin.

"I Class" frigates equipped with MK-41 Vertical Launch Systems will provide medium-altitude air defense capability to ships they are accompanying.

The system will be used in TCG Istanbul, which is the first "I Class" frigate, also known as the "Stack Class" of the Turkish Navy.

The Turkish Naval Forces Command completed the design of "I Class" frigates within two years, based on the Ada Class Corvette designs.

Turkey, meanwhile, is also developing national vertical launch systems.

It is stated that the domestic air defense systems will be used for the TCG İzmir (F-516), TCG Izmit (F-517) and TCG İçel (F-518) frigates.

There is a 2 latest rumor ı heard on twitter and facebook ;

First one is ;

Turkey will take 16 harrier II+ from italy for anadolu lhd . From my side if that's cheap and navy usses hims for gap-filler until carrier based stealth aa capable ucav's its ok.

Second İs ;

Turkey will cancel the Tcg Trakya and take Guiseppe Garibaldi From İtaly When they are's commissioned the trieste.

Ship is a 35 years old not much aged than varyag who modernizad and will operational long time in pla navy. On the other hand Brazilians used sao paolo and minas gereas aircraft carriers until 55 years old. İt can be good for 20 years if him cheap. Also we can take extra bae harriers from uk and upgrade him radar + jhms + targetting pods if required.

So

Yes harriers old, low speed and generally attack aircraft when compared fighters.

But

+ They can attack with 240 km ranged som-j to enemy fleets when far 120 km from carrier due with using siper air defense missile coverage on air defence escort. so total 360 km range + saturation strike will be game changer for againts any navy.

+ Also they can reach the siper coverage limit 120 km they can launc c-7 amraam to more 120 km that give us 240 km range with this ability we can engage enemy aircrafts who want attack us our fleets with som-j class cruise missiles.

+ Also he can be effective againts non-aircraft carrier owned nations on east-med.

+ Also he can do it great jobs on libya, tunusia class nations.

G40 seems more realistic than SİPER for now. We might see İ Class with G40. What if mk41 vls can launch G40?? İt would be great. İt might be the reason Why barbaros class have domestic x band radar.
