280,000 decare Naval Base that will house national surveillance long range radars, missile systems. Naval base will have capacity enough to harbour LHD, Frigates, Corvettes and other auxiliary units.

An Airbase will also be built in Cyprus. This base will house Tf-X and Hürjet like national aircrafts.

I give NATO max. 10 years till it ceases to exist They have caused to much mischief from a Turkish PoV that things are at such a point where one cant talk about an "alliance" anymore. If they want to use the base they can use the british one i guess.

With the Geçitkale military airbase and the new radar field, Cyprus will contain very important level of Naval , Air and special forces elements. Targeted capacity can be compared with UK's Dhekelia and Agrotur base, which is in southern Cyprus.

I am aware of Ottoman history. Turkish culture has largely incorporated most of Ottoman imperial culture which was very much pluralistic in nature. Present Turkish republic population also includes people of Balkan and Caucasian origin who adopted Islam and Turkishness which was originated in central Asia. Therefore, Turkish population is largely multiethnic and it is not a single race. Ofcourse, there are many secular and unislamic Turkish people who deny their Islamic and Ottoman heritage. They usually promote secular nationalism instead.

So far Turkey was holding back because of a potential re-unification of the Island but now that the Greek side refused the UN plan steps for permanent bases can be taken.
Cyprus has an incredible value for Turkey now that the Hydrocarbon reserves have been found, a re-unification wont happen even if Greek side wanted now, its basically an unsinkable AC for Turkey.

Turkish defense industry is developing unique naval striking equipments ay present and An unsinkable AC like Cyprus will be the main base of those systems in mear future. It is located in the center of E.Med which will allow us to reach any location TurAF will target.

In following period, Turkey will reveal following products;

• Anti-ship ballistic missiles with active seeker head
• Bora-2 pinpoint ballistic missile
• Supersonic anti-ship cruise missile (RamJet propulsion)
• Air launchable anti-ship cruise missile SOM-G1/2
• Land/Ship based Land attack subsonic cruise missile (1000+km) called Gezgin
• Temren Short range anti-ship missile
• Akya 533mm heavy class and Orka light weight torpedos.
• Swarm attack naval drones (A variant of Kargı) having a range more than 1000km.
• Watozz SIDA swarm attack smart naval mines. Albayrak group is awarded by SSB to develop this concept but I don’t know about their capabilities. If they manage to develop the concept they have introduced, then It will be a game changer in a likely conflict.
