It seems the indigenously designed armoured vehicles to be purchased by SSM/Army will have domestic engine, transmission and other steering gears after this period. The tender requirements are updated in accordance to meet those criterias.

Does this mean;

1-Design the vehicle with foreign engine,foreign transmission etc...
2-Develop an indigenous engine, indigenous transmission etc..
3-Redesign the vehicle for indigenous members.

?

In case FNSS,Otokar or somebody else selected for the tender,they should wait for BMC to manufacture the engine and then revise their vehicles according to the BMC engine...

Am I got it wrong?

Tumosan has already developed an indigenous engine + transmission pack, from Twin-Turbo 4 cylinder to Turbo 6 cylinder diesels.. This would standardise our powerpacks in inventory and make it easy for mechanics/service technicians to work on these engines as they would know how the engines operate and its components since they're all one.
