Turkish Akinci Drone.....

Not Just SOM , There are more stranger things too:

AKINCI and Aksungur systems are designed and planned under a doctrine of the previously not tried before. This new approach will benefit from fully network-centric combat capabilities. In other words, they will be only carrier platforms, for some types of ammunition or for some avionic payloads.

Probably Akıncı block-1 (2x450hp) will be able to carry two SOM-J with a special configuration. Since the SOM-A / B-1 / B-2 variants are on average 1350-1400lb, either the underbody pylon is required or need to wait for the second block that will have 2x750hp engines.

Can Aksungur carry SOM Cruise Missile ???

it seems Turkey put all its focus on MALE and strike drones, any projects of HALE drone?

Very unlikely with TEI-PD222.

Frankly, I care more about the integration of these systems with the miniature ammunition classes(Aselsan MB, Sage Kuzgun, etc.) that are being developed now...

However, when we follow the developments closely, we see that these UAV systems' improved distant strike and engagement capabilities are planned to be an important pillar of network-centric warfare.

Therefore, both AKINCI and AKSUNGUR are expected to have access to important changes and new abilities within upcoming variants. Already, the overall project logic of the Defense Industry Directorate is based on meeting the urgent need with the available capabilities, then detailed developments on the system.

Well I hope Aksungur can also carry some long range heavy Missiles. It could be great for us against terrorists and our neighbor on the east.

TAI Aksungur system will have 40.000ft of altitude ceiling with PD-170 and +40.000ft with PD-222. With future engine enhancements/replacements, it can be expected to reach a ceiling altitude of 50,000ft.

While various conceptual design and development activities are underway in the strategic classes (+50.000ft); Turkey's current priority is to develop and mass produce advanced operative UAVs which we can be called as MALE+ also. Then we will watch a rapid development of turbofan UAVs in TR.

These planes are developing primarily to carry more ammunitions types with improved load capacity. Therefore, the service altitudes of these planes will be proportional to these ammunition types and ground attack mission profiles.

I guess it is due to the more urgent need of counter insurgency?

Insurgency is almost a non issue currently compared to developments in Syria and Libya where those drones get used extensively.
But we can say that the UCAV's have been a nightmare for pkk and they are basically defenseless against them.

I was reading that Turkey has signed agreement with Pakistan to give its best UAV drone called Akinci / Turkey akanchi Drone.
Kindly confirm it when and how many ??
