Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday that a further 10 million doses of the Chinese CoronaVac vaccine could arrive in Turkey this weekend.
Delivery of a second batch of the vaccine had been approved by China, the president told reporters in Istanbul.
Turkey has received its first shipment of three million doses of China's Sinovac vaccine in late December after interim data from a late-stage trial has shown the vaccine is 91.25 percent effective against COVID-19.
Since they've rolled out the vaccination campaign on January 14, more than 1 million people have been vaccinated, most of whom are health workers and elderly people.
Turkey's vaccine program coordinator Tarkan Mustafa Yamanoglu said it was easier to carry out rapid vaccinations with CoronaVac than some other shots requiring much colder storage.
Sinovac's Phase III clinical trials in the country started on September 14 and have included more than 7,000 volunteers. The results announced recently were based on data from 1,322 people.
Turkish researchers said on December 24 that no major side-effects were seen during their trial, apart from one person who had an allergic reaction. Common adverse effects caused by the vaccine were fever, mild pain, and slight fatigue.
Currently, Turkey has reported about 24,000 deaths and more than 2.4 million COVID-19 infections since March, some of the highest figures in the Middle East.

How does the Sinovac vaccine work?
The Beijing-based biopharmaceutical company Sinovac is behind the CoronaVac, an inactivated vaccine.
It works by using killed viral particles to expose the body's immune system to the virus without risking a serious disease response.
By comparison the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines being developed in the West are mRNA vaccines. This means part of the coronavirus' genetic code is injected into the body, triggering the body to begin making viral proteins, but not the whole virus, which is enough to train the immune system to attack.
"CoronaVac is a more traditional method [of vaccine] that is successfully used in many well known vaccines like rabies," Associate Prof Luo Dahai of the Nanyang Technological University told the BBC.
"mRNA vaccines are a new type of vaccine and there is [currently] no successful example [of them] being used in the population," Prof Luo adds.

There are many countries running three trails of Sino vaccine, due to different reasons(some are politically motived), they reveals different effective result. It's hard to say accurate effective result at this stage, but some more reliable countries like UAE has higher effective result, like 95%.

US CDC Fauci said 75% is good enough to stop pandemic from spreading.

Where the 95% of effective result comes from? Pfizer itself. But CEO dump his own stock the day when he announce the result. Funny, isn't it?

The only reliable effective results should come from other countries instead of Pfizer itself.

For instance, the SinoVac has a efficient number of 91% in Turkey, but for the same vaccine, the west media report 50% efficiency number in Brazil, the case in Brazil is they inject the vaccine to already COVID-19 positive patients, and then count them in the overall COVID-19 number, you know, a typical political plot by the Brazil's mini-Trump.

Independent investigation of Pfizer's trial data show Pfizer efficiency could be as low as 19%, and Israel vaccine expert believe the first shot of Pfizer's vaccine is only 33% efficient instead of 52% Pfizer claimed.

So you cannot just comparing the efficiency numbers between vaccines, especially considering there are so many west smear campaign against China vaccines.

But fatality number do tell many things:

Despite of all the smear campaign and tens of millions of dose already shot, the west media has yet to find a single fatality case caused by Chinese vaccines, while there are already hundreds of death caused by Pfizer etc already.

mRNA has never had any successful vaccine in history. As a Chinese, I would prefer safe(traditional an inactivated vaccine) than sorry(pfizer mRNA).
