Turkey’s New Assault Carrier Will Transform Navy

It'll obviously be a step down from F-35 to MiG-35, but it is an option to say the least.
Do you guys really think we'll be operating Mig-35 from this ship? Yep, the plan was operating F-35s from her deck but it doesn't have to be a light aircraft carrier just because it has a ski-jump; remember, she's an LHD. We can operate helis from it as well. But I do think we will get F-35s until 2025 at the worst case.

. . . .
Do you think France would sell Rafales to us? Or an another question, why would we want to operate an aircraft of an hostile country?
It was sarcastic and rhetorical meant. But yes, France would sell the jets, be sure.

The only aircrafts that can launch from it are the Harrier and F-35B.

Than he has his answer. Harrier is more likely.
There are some rumors in Turkish social media that we are negotiating with Italy on aircraft carrier Giuseppe Garibaldi and Harriers but I don't know if this is true or not...

Why 2025? Because it'll be Trumps exit from the Oval Office?
At the worst case. And remember, it takes time to truly become combat ready if you don't want to become like Egypt on this case

Says the expert... You are known for acting like a troll, don't you realize that nobody ever takes you seriously?
When it comes to the F-35s; even Greece, Poland, Belgium and such others are planning to buy them until 2024; with that in mind, do you really think the F-35 deal for Turkey is over? We may lose our industrial participation, we may not get them in a short term but we will get them eventually before 2025. Do you really think this is the only time Turkish-American relations were bad? This is the nature of our relations. We don't get along at first, but there are mutual benefits for both countries and eventually they learn to get along in time. We will get them before 2025 at the worst case, trust me ;)

SO ITS TIT FOR TAT MOVE YOU KNOW WITH LESS DEFENSE ON BOARD WITHOUT ANY SOPHISTICATED AWACS/ FIGHTER JETS TO INTERCEPTS ENEMY'S FIGHTER JETS/ MISSILES (ANTI SHIP)
It's not tit for tat. You need to visit Turkish Defence Forum for the information that you lack.

Well they better opt for something fast otherwise it'll be the most expensive paper weight surpassing the B737-MAX.

What good is an Aircraft Carrier if you're (only) gonna use Helicopters on it :cuckoo: ?

If the French are out, than their is one and ONLY option would be the Russians. I say this 'cause their relations with the Chinese don't appear to be all that great either.

I'm actually surprised by the Turkish. They're always very calculated, but this time around they had put all their eggs in one basket with the F-35.

The MiG-35 is coming out with a Naval version. Maybe the Turks could go for it if they decide to go all the way with the S-400.

I don't know. They've cut off from the US and now they've got issues with the Russians too.
TCG Anadolu is an LHD with capability of operating STOVL aircrafts. Most of the navies who own an LHD is preparing to operate stovl aircrafts.
F-35B is just a bonus for TCG Anadolu, It hasnt been the major reason.
This is not an Aircraft carrier,it doesnt have arrest wires, catapult like systems , Mig-35 can not operate on it.

It counters Egyptian navy Mistral light carriers.
It is vice-versa, Mistrals ended up in hands of Egypt after Russian-Western dispute on Ukraine out of nowhere. It happened after Turkey has decided for having an LHD with STOVL aircraft capability (Back in 2012), Turkey has longed for an LPD/LHD asset since 1990s-2000s.
Actually Mistrals are meant to counter TCG Anadolu in the region, and it is obvious.

The only aircrafts that can launch from it are the Harrier and F-35B.
More aircraft can be launched, but they may not land.
