so this is my understanding. After the loss of the ottomans in ww1 treaty of lausanne was signed in which turkey will lose most of its land and waters and the authority held over the states controlled by the ottomans this treaty is viable till 2023. ERdogan realized this and began early for preparing to hold leverage over his old states this spans from the involvment in libya tunis egypt and cyprus and the levant. Egypt Greece Cyprus (israel joined later) after the expelling of the MB started coordination in military cooperation and lining of EEZ borders to deter erdogan from trying to restore the ottoman empire in 2023. This explains the massive jump in naval production in Egypt
