What is there to threaten here? US along with its Western stooges went into Syria and created this mess. Turkey took the brunt and had to take in Syrian refugees. The West cries foul and don't even want to take in any Syrian refugees.

Before you do that. You must put sanctions on imperialist countries that created this mess.

Turkey Syria border is 822 Km long. So if Turkey wants to create a buffer zone upto 30km inside of Syrian border, this amounts to a total territory of over 24,000 Sq Kms. Not a bad little land grab.
