Aside from some of his brainfarts, when Erdogan first started to use the 'make at least 3 children' statement some years ago, some people were making fun of him. Now it's not a secret that Turkey is slowly aging and if Turkey doesnt want to end up as certain EU countries, more fresh blood is going to be needed, especially because we are not even a developed country like Germany, France, the UK etc. yet.

Saying "Make 3 children " is a very easy thing for him.... After all i can't send my children to US Private Universities with donations like him....

After birth, state gives a 4 months paid vacation to mother.....after then what ??? What about the expenses ? I want my children to be well educated and have a decent profession. It means Max: 2 Children for me. And i'm above mid-class... Government gives almost no support but wants several children.....I think he lost touch with the reality.

There was joke on the internet about this issue..... "Make 3 Children. We need workers to die in the mines"

Most of my friend has 1 children, some got 2. Nobody wants to make the 3rd children.

They NEED a larger population.

Healthy population growth will drive Turkish economy AND will give more young people to Turkey.

Understand that Turkey is still a developing economy and needs young blood.

You do realise the mass slavery/exploitation of countries by the Ottomans for centuries more than the British empire etc, hell they were even selling slaves in the 20th century, they werent exactly saints in that period, they did much the same as the European powers, mass genocide, slavery, exploiting natural resources.

Indians are so uneducated about world history, some Indians I know think Hitler was a great guy and know nothing about all the killings he did, hell most of them dont even know anything about WW2 unless its the Indians fighting in the Empire dying, very ignorant of anything that somehow isnt related to India. Turkey does not need a bigger population, every economy is fragile at the moment and even if you live in a rich country more people does not mean its going to help, if you have a huge landmass and the right infrastructure then it can but usually wont help. More people = more problems, its not really a coincidence that every country with a high population has high numbers of poverty is it.

1 kid = population decline
2 kids = no population growth or decline
3+ kids = population growth

People can look at those numbers and determine how many kids you need to have.

Certain minority groups in turkey are having alot of kids. I wouldnt be suprised if turks become a minority in turkey if things keep going the way they are, but of course it would be backwards to have more than 3 kids.

Also i agree that abortion is bad overall.

Im planing to have 4 kids i suggest the same for all turks.

If Turkey grows economically strong we could attract immigrants from Central-Asian Turkic republics and from Russia. We Turks have enough population but we need strong economy to sustain bigger population.
