The recategorization of the Aya Sofia Mosque as a Museum was done by the Turkish state. The reasons for this change were varied. The same Turkish state is changing it back from a museum to a mosque.

Please don't compare 1453 to 1999. I have explained the dangers of temporal relativism to Indians many times. If crticism is to be leveraged from a moral standpoint, let us compare and contrast events in the modern post-ww2 era of human rights and universal suffrage.

If we are to condemn acts from even a couple of centuries ago, the entirety of western civilisation should be hauled before a war crimes tribunal immediately.
