Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has been awarded a contract to upgrade Turkey's Lockheed Martin F-16 Block 30 Fighting Falcon fighter aircraft.
Known as the F-16 Block 30 Structural Modernisation Programme, the effort will include the Turkish Air Force's 35 oldest F-16s in order to increase their service life.
According to a TAI spokesperson, the contract for the upgrade process was signed between TAI and the Turkish Undersecretariat for Defence Industries on 10 August. Much of the work is expected to be conducted by the Turkish Air Force's 1st Air Supply and Maintenance Center Command.
