Turkey will invest $46 billion on railways in the next five years, the transport minister said May 8, 2018

Turkey has invested $25 billion on its railways, including high-speed trains

1,213 km high-speed railway line was in operation in Turkey

Construction of 3,798 km of railway is underway and 11,582 km of railway projects are in the process of auction and plan

Turkey is the second-largest country after China in railway constructions.
Our target is to complete 11,700 km of high-speed railway lines and to link 41 cities to each other

Japan’s Transfer of Bullet Train Technology A Mistake. China, Of Course, Has Copied It

Wang’s comments illustrated China’s bare ambition to “export high-speed rail.” Just 13 years ago, China abandoned its own development attempt, deciding instead to rely upon Japanese, German, and French technology. However, in 2015, Indonesia rejected Japan’s high-speed railway offer, choosing China’s proposal. China, proceeding with overseas development despite profit risks, has become a formidable rival to Japan.

Yoshiyuki Kasai, honorary chairman of the Central Japan Railway Company, criticizes the decision to transfer technology. “The Shinkansen is the jewel of Japan. The technology transfer to China was a huge mistake,” he said.

You know buddy, there is only one shortcut to get the tech fast...
And now China makes same mistake haha

Sorry, China high-speed rail technology comes from SIEMENS, we buy it. Japanese technology is also from Germany.

Of course, Turkey's technology comes from China, which is a great progress for Turkey.

Congratulations to Turkey, but don't be proud. You have a long way to go from Wuhan.

It's all about supply and demand issue buddy, simple logic. China 12 times larger by size and 16 times by population. Still China just building x2 more railways than Turkey which is must be increased compared to its size.

One way or another you get from someone we get from one another so no need to fight over it who got it first.

Ah, it doesn't matter. You don't need to know who has the most railway mileage in the world. All you need to know is that Turkey railway is China's 1/2. This is a small gap. Ummm...

In secret talks, the German government is seeking to push forward a massive project to modernize Turkey's railways ...... The total value of the order is around 35 billion euros

Could this be the base to the Turkey-Iran-Pakistan rail network which was planned in the mid-2000s? I remember there was a lot of discussion on trans-national rail corridors between Turkey, Iran and Pakistan to first promote cargo and then encourage people to use railways as a means to mass transit between the three countries.

Are you saying that Japanese rely on Germany for Shinkansen?

Pakistan,Iran,Turkey already have rail connectivity ( The train completes a total of 6566 km between Islamabad and Istanbul in 13 days) and we have been running cargo trains since 2009

You get the technology and redevelop the technology. It has no problems.

You get the technology and redevelop the technology. It has no problems. But some backward agricultural countries talk about technology sources. This is interesting

China was backward agricultural country in 1980 ,,, how did China change after the death of MAO in 1976 ?

Chinese get the technology and redevelop the technology such as high speed train technology from Japan and Germany
