Turkey to invest in Kyrgyzstan's agriculture sector

Turkish Food, Agriculture & Animal Breeding Minister Mehdi Eker said that Turkey was willing to share its knowledge and experience with Kyrgyzstan in agriculture area. Eker, who met Kyrgyzstan's Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov in Bishkek on Saturday, said that Turkey would invest in agriculture, animal breeding, poultry and fertilizer sectors in Kyrgyzstan.

Turkey's support to Kyrgyzstan's development will continue, and Turkey is willing to make investments in Kyrgyz agriculture sector, he added.

Eker said that the trade volume between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan increased eight times and reached 230 million USD during Justice & Development (AK) Party rule, adding that Turkey donated 20 million USD to Kyrgyzstan in the past two years.

Kyrgyz prime minister thanked Turkey's support, and called on Turkish businessmen to invest in Kyrgyzstan.

Eker will depart from Bishkek on Monday.
