Turkey To Develop Home-Grown Missile Defense System

Pakistan should invest in this program. Consider it like JF-17 program. Future integrated air defence shield is a vital requirement. Turkey will produce high quality system, I'm sure of that. We should share the development cost.

That's the point !

Hisar missile family will be enlarged to advanced and longer variants which is going to protect all air layers of Turkish Republic. Currently, Turkish industry works on three variants on low and medium altitude. Indigenous Long altitude SAM is waiting for signature ceremony. Hisar-MANPAD is also under preparation phase for official kick-off.

What is status of Hisar A and Hisar O. Have they passed all trials ? And when Turkey will start deploying them.

China already won. The deal may have been cancelled, but the Chinese have proven they can compete with Western and Russian systems, and actually win.

Marketing wise, the Chinese won. Now they can rightfully claim that the only reason why the Turks dropped the deal was due to NATO pressure, and US embarrassment.

That will be the ''obvious'' reason, but not the real reason.

Purchasing a strategic missile system, which is going to protect your long altitude air layer, from a country who orders many battery of Russian S-400 missile system is not logical thing to do. China itself don't believe the capabilities of own clone system but changing directions to reliable source instead of their own. İn this circumstances, How can you hope Turkey will purchase such an unreliable system?

Second factor of cancellation was Turkeys domestic institutes like Roketsan and Aselsan made pressure desicion makers to cancel negotiations to immediately commence development of domestic long altitude equivalent and they proved their capabilities with feasibility studies.

Actually all this process showed us that chinese system has been used for getting some "gains".

No TOT and No sales of HQ-9 system to Turkey!

In high-end missile system business, there is no buyer market whats so ever, anyone ever thinks that less than 4B dollars could change that must be crazy enough, China's FOX reserve = 4 times of Turkey's GDP!

that's the end and reality, we refused to sale 2 HQ-9 system to Turkey in last december 2015!

but FD-2000 system already entered service in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, more orders are on the way!!!

you can say whatever you want to for saving your face, but in reality not even one great power in this world takes Turkey Seriously.

even Turkey's SRBM and MLRS are the results of TOT from China's monkey version products in 1990s!

FD-2000 in Turkmenistan, enjoy!!!

Its actually you whos trying to save face, it was Turkey that ended the deal not China, you should be happy enough with the fact that a NATO country even considered buying a Chinese system instead of being bitter about the refusal.

I remember Chinese celebrating here in forum when they won the tender, they were boasting because they prooved Chinese systems can compete with NATO, now after the end of the deal you guys made 180° turn, be a little bit more consistent.

1- One picture is enough for your propaganda in this thread.
2- This thread is not talking about GDP so Keep your GDP statics for other topics.

3- Let me explain Who is trying to save own face.

It is not China refused to sell HQ-9. China was the one who offered HQ-9 to Turkey so entered to T-LORAMIDS tender with min. COST/max. ToT claims. In accordance with TOT/COST claims, Turkish officials ranked China as first line contender for starting negotiations. During negotiations, Chinese media was proud of How they succeeded to get the winner in a NATO state but later, It is announced that The Tender is canceled cause of the reasons I have told above.

Simply, There was a tender and It was Chine offered HQ-9 to Turkey. Turkey accepted negotiations and Finally, Disagreements on many points addition to confidence to Chinese technology (S-400 order from Russia), NATO integrity problems of S-300 clone HQ-9 and Domestic institute pressures drive Turkish decision makers to cancel Chinese talks to commence development of more advanced Long altitude SAM missile system .

As I said, Turkey is the last state to purchase S-300 clone Chinese HQ-9, While Chine orders S-400 systems from Russia during tender process. Turkmenistan HQ-9 doesn't change this fact. We are talking about a serious NATO state whose military gears should be the top quality along with NATO integrity standards.

Korkut 35mm twin gun is a strategic product for our close aerial protection and Aselsan developed Fire control system make upgraded Oerlikon guns totally unmanned which is directed by Radar/EO combined Fire control computers. Both of those systems use Aselsan developed AHEAD munitions and their reaction times are minimized thanks to advanced radar/EO combination efforts.
Pakistan should consider this option with AHEAD munitions.

First of all HQ-9 isn't S-300 clone as it incorporates the technology of both MIM-104 and S-300. China is buying S-400 because it is superior to HQ-9 and wants to reverse engineer it more importantly S-400 is superior to every NATO SAM.

The S-400 purchase does not by any means imply that the HQ-9's performance is inadequate, as the two systems occupy different niches. The sheer numbers in which the HQ-9 is deployed, as well as their use in highly contested areas (i.e. SCS), are all testaments to the PLA's confidence in the system.

I don't know where you are getting the notion that the HQ-9 is "unreliable"; the Turkey trials indicate that it is perfectly capable of competing against, and some times excelling, comparable missiles offered by the US/Russia/etc.

Missiles and launchers are S-300 clone, Radars are Patriot.

.
And even less of a deal because the US may buy Iron Dome (Tamir interceptor) for use on its Multi-Mission launcher. Tamir, AIM-9X, Hellfire, Stinger, and the new MHTK - Miniature Hit-to-Kill missile:

Are all being tested on the MML:

If the US chooses to buy the Tamir, it could mean either joint production or a financial windfall for Israel, both of which are cost beneficial for Tamir.

Turkey would benefit greatly from a similar system, that's for sure. Yesterday's rocket attack demonstrates the paramount necessity of such an interceptor.

Guns like these aren't going to cut it, something with greater range and response time is needed.

Also , most likely that the stunner missile from david sling interceptor, developed by rafael , will be part of the next version of patriot
