North Korea is economically bad due to sanctions not because of bad management or bad system. It was on par with South Korea before sanctions. When sanctions will be lifted NK will be like little China.

North Korea can be economically better than Sri lanka, data from countries like India should be taken with a ton of salt. In China you see progress aross the board on the ground, in India you see little happening other than big growth number on paper.

Why not? NK has only 20m people (less than Shanghai/Beijing), with Pyongyang as its major population center.

People dress neatly and streets are clean, at least in Pyongyang.

And it was quite developed back in 50's-80's. More developed than SK: 8-hours working day, 5-day working week, 30-day paid holiday and so on. North Koreans enjoyed full social social package in times when SK was backward military dictatorship. (As far as I know South Koreans still work 12-14 hours a day, have no 30-day paid holidays etc.)
When sanctions will be lifted NK becomes next China, little one.

No one knows the authencity of those pics and whether they were modified. Check the real video shot in recent North Korea can get a much better picture of the country, they don't look starved and their streets are clean and organized which you rarely see in south Asian countries.

there are dozens of these pics taken by different satellites and different countries. the observations of the satellite can be correlated with observations on the ground for all countries except North Korea. North Korea does not allow observers into its countryside

You can ask a Chinese satellite to take an image. the results will be the same.

Clearly North Korea is better than Sri Lanka. haha, you're still salty about the data I mentioned. Your own premier said, he don't trust data from China, that the officials must have faked it to get promoted or whatever and he proposed that electricity consumption to be taken as reliable (LOL). Not my word. In contrast, datas from India is relatively more accurate and credible.

DPRK is sitting ons sh*t load of mineral resources that are in high demand in South Korea and China. Importing from DPRK is also cheaper than importing from more distant countries.
They can be like Gulf States which became rich with exporting natural resources.

that is nice in theory
1. those mineral reserves need to be real
2. you need to extract them and sell them and distribute the benefits to the entire populace

we know how well the second point works in developing countries
