So ignore the kids. Instead ask them to read a few Ottoman Turkish newspapers and books as some kind of homework so they can explore their past culture and learn a few new things. Or read Ottoman Turkish documents about the society back. Then they will notice the significant Arab influences on Ottoman society which every educated person is well aware of. Might as well read about the Turkish Arabs that number 5-6 million nowadays and which predate the sporadic Turkic migrations to Anatolia.

Despite troll posts or sporadic insults here most Arabs and Turks do not have any hostility at most some historical disagreements. Millions of Turks have visited Arab countries and vice versa. Turkish minorities live in many Arab countries and Arabs live in Turkey since time immortal. Pointless. The Ottomans had their time and are long gone as did the Rashidun (not that I will dare to compare the Rashidun with any Caliphate - it was the only "real and genuine" caliphate), Umayyad, Abbasid and Fatimid. We won't agree with what occurred 100 years ago anyway nor did any of us live back then. The same can be said about Arabs in relation to 1517 when the Ottomans gained the Caliphate after almost 1000 years of Arab rule of the Caliphate. Pointless discussion of today. 1000 times more important topics to discuss.

However you need to do something about users on PDF that insult Arabs out of nowhere and provoke a similar reply. Arabs hardly ever start such discussions.

I know. Hardly any other Arab user than me and 1-2 others (at most) are involved in such discussions and I respect the few other remaining Arabs (including you) a lot by being able to ignore such nonsense completely. I wish that I could do the same but we are not all perfect. Eventually I hope that I will stop caring at all. I already do in many instances but sometimes certain people need a wakeup call to reality.

BTW I don't even have anything against Erdogan either although I consider him a perfect example of a populist, opportunist and a person who plays everyone out against each other. I do believe that he is genuinely religious (not that I care personally) and obviously he has no problem with Arabs (otherwise he would not marry an ethnic Arab) but trusting him blindly as certain Islamists do? Of course not.

My problem is that some Turks (Neo-Ottomanist) believe that Islamic history began in 1517 and equal Ottoman conquests (including that of their country) as some kind of Islamic principles. I don't like this hypocrisy. Arabs can play even bigger Neo-somethingnists and claim much more territory, including half of modern-day Turkey and half of Central Asia. I don't see any Arabs doing that because we Arabs have enough on our plate already. We have 20 + countries. KSA alone is half the size of the Ottoman empire at its biggest. Non-Arabs cannot phantom this simple fact it seems.

The only Caliphate that is accepted religiously (without any objections by every Sunni Muslim) are the Rashidun which is why they are called the "4 RIGHTLY GUIDED Caliphs". ALL others were DYNASTIES who used the title to further their agenda. Which explains why the first Ottoman Sultans never used the title Caliph and none of them ever made Hajj even once. That's a fact. Thus such discussions have nothing to do with religion but whose "daddy" is stronger discussions.

Shia Muslims whether Arab or Turks, do not even accept those dynasties as religious dynasties. Not even the 4 rightly Guided Caliphs other than Ali. They have their own Imams. So let us end it here, shall we?

Not all Muslims around the world are suffering...Those who are suffering, are crying for ummah brotherhood with those Muslims, who are not sufferings. So it is unfair to blame Arabs, if they want to priotize their Arab culture as more important identification to them than the Muslim unity...At the end of the day, Arabs are not insecure nor poor enough to look for unity among other nations...It is a hard fact..which other Muslims nations are not recognizing it..
