Russia has a real Air carrier called Admiral Kuznetsov. Even that ship and its mighty fleet of Combat air superiority maritime aircraft is enough to blockade all your civilian ship transports from iskanderun. Add that to the desastrous situation in middle east and none of your consumer goods can reach their customers in the middle east anymore. That would be desastrous for your economy.

You can´t actually attack Kuznetsov because Washington will never allow that. in fear of WW3. Can anybody corroborate this? WTF? So software can render an entire ship useless? Can't the codes just be rewritten, or new software installed? Even a damned laptop can change it's software without the hardware being useless?

And guys, I'm talking about a bargain here. Stop the 'Turks can build better' or not. That isn't at all the point. If your neighbor goes bankrupt and his big fat BMW is going away for bargain basement prices, you buy it whether you like it or not. Especially if you are a Turk (BMW)

From what i understood it would take hundreds of millions euros to simply overhaul en refit the entire ship, not to mention the cost of the ship itself and the time needed doing so. It just seems like a more efficient and future-prove solution to opt for the Juan Carlos since it will be build according to our very own standards from scratch. Not to mention the fact it will have good amount of Turkish contribution with alot of jobs that would come with it. Its brings alot more advantages that i didnt mention. Plus the fact we absolutly despise the French doesnt really help either.

And yeah rewritting software wont be that hard at all especcialy for France (you know, the country that designed, built and uses these for a decade now), its not like Russian integrated software and circuits are top notch, highly secret or futuristic by any means.

Juan carlos has very little self defence. some phalanx etc. Many missile boats can harm it seriously and render it useless when they can come close enough.

A big ship like that needs a buffer zone where you can place other airdefence units to defend it.

I think nato command will simply take away your ship for their own force projection missions. In fact a carrier is useless for turkey, because you don´t have a direct access to an ocean. where a carrier can play out its full potencial.
