NATO standards are not to engage a plane outside of WVR without issuing visual warnings to an intruding aircraft. The radio warnings given by the TuAF are meanigless, they breached international norms by engaging the plane at a distance of 60km that too when it was in their airpace for mere seconds and posing no threat to Turkey.

Turkey has no right to claim the moral high ground here- they messed up big time.

What threat did an aircraft inturding for 2-17 seconds have to Turkey?
