US official termed mutual ties with Pakistan as important.
WASHINGTON (Dunya News) – Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for the State Department Henry S. Ensher said that pressure will continue to be put on Pakistan until it changes its policy towards regional peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Addressing a symposium in Washington, the US official termed mutual ties with Pakistan as important, adding that status quo in Afghanistan is not suitable for Pakistan.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) uses Afghan territory as a platform for attacks in Pakistan, he opined.
He further encouraged bilateral negotiations between Pakistan and India to reduce the tensions and to resolve disputes including Kashmir issue.
"US assistance has helped put 3200MW on the grid-enough to power several major Pakistani cities," Henry stated.
