MINGORA: Two commanders of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Swat chapter have died of illness in the custody of the security forces, sources told The News on Monday.
The sources said that Muslim Khan and Mehmood Khan were arrested in 2010. Four to five important TTP figures were arrested on the occasion and Muslim Khan and Mehmood Khan were among them.
Muslim Khan was spokesman for the TTP in Swat. Mehmood Khan was one of the Taliban negotiators in Swat and had good contacts with government officials.
The sources said that both the TTP commanders died in the custody of the security forces. However, there was no official confirmation of the deaths. The local sources said the commanders died last year.
