Trump’s ‘deal-making skills’ can help resolve Kashmir: US VP-elect Mike Pence

.
Will not happen, we will not give up Kashmir at any cost!

While such a status quoist mindset had currency during the past 20 years, I'm glad to note the signs that such is now truly past its sell by date now. Kashmir is rightfully ours. The whole of it. And that claim will not go anywhere. Nor will we. Nor our ability to wait.

Kashmir was always rightfully ours! people can say what they want, it won't change ground reality that it's an integral part of India!

The USA won't have the tenacity to mediate on this or Russia for that matter!

Ever wondered why Pakistanis like @That Guy keep singing paens in favor of Musharraf's "solution"? They know they are in no position to force the issue. Ever. They also know they are running out of time with India well and truly locked in a counter thrust in Balochistan. And pushing them from Afghanistan. It's all well and good to send ten men across the border to kill and be killed. But history shows that territory once lost does not come back easy. If ever. And that is Pakistan's real fear. Not wresting Kashmir. But not losing big chunks of their land. And as before in 1971 it will not be to India (not at least what we do not claim). But to the rightful native residents of the land. And the chain reaction it would trigger in other restive areas and peoples.

US president-elect Donald Trump can use his “extraordinary deal-making skills” to reduce tensions around the world and resolve problems such as the Kashmir issue, vice president-elect Mike Pence has said.

In remarks that will not go down well with the leadership in New Delhi, Pence also said the new US administration intends to be “fully engaged” in South Asia and with India and Pakistan on issues such as Kashmir to promote peace and security.

Pence made the remarks when he was asked on NBC’s “Meet the Press” programme whether Trump’s remarks during a recent phone conversation with Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif amounted to an offer to “be a mediator in deciding Kashmir”.

“I think in president-elect Donald Trump you’ve got someone who, who is prepared to advance America’s interests here at home, to rebuild this economy, to fight for American jobs,” he said.

“But I think you’re also going to see an energetic leadership in the world, prepared to engage and to look for ways that he can bring those extraordinary deal-making skills to bear on lessening tensions and solving problems in the world.”

Referring to recent tensions between India and Pakistan, Pence said Trump wanted to make sure that both countries “know that when this administration takes office, that we intend to be fully engaged in the region and fully engaged with both nations to advance peace and security”.

During Trump’s conversation with Sharif, which was widely mocked for its tone, the real estate mogul described the prime minister as a “terrific guy” and Pakistan as an “amazing” country. Trump also said he was “ready and willing to play any role that you want me to play to address and find solutions to the outstanding problems”, according to a Pakistani readout.

Pence further said there had “been great tension between India and Pakistan in recent days. It’s resulted in violence along the Kashmir region.” During his conversations with leaders of India and Pakistan, Trump expressed “a desire for continued US engagement on building the relationship with both of those countries”.

Asked if Trump’s transition team is using the expertise of the state department’s foreign service professionals and following protocol and international norms for phone calls with key world leaders, Pence said he and Trump were receiving “presidential daily briefs” and formal briefings on national security. “And, and I know the president-elect has been briefed as he’s been making these calls,” he added.

Trump has spoken to more than 50 leaders around the world and these were “courtesy conversations”, Pence said, adding they were “part and parcel of beginning the kinds of relationships that will allow our new president to advance America’s interests in the world”.

US has a problem with its image. Although they might sincerely try to solve the issue, but India and US has a lot of trust defict with respect to US. It is perceived that if also, US will do something, it is not necessary for the interest of the region rather it will create further chaos around India and Pakistan...Example are very much available starting with Afganistan,Iraq and many other areas.

If India at any point of time should accept for mediation, it should be Russia or Iran...and again to some extent, i think, China/Japan is not bad either.

No Mediation on this Bi-lateral matter, no if's no buts!

How many times I've told you that Mr. Trump will get this issue resolved. He isn't the typical person that you can somehow "maintain". If he put his head to it and this sticks, well, too 'effing bad. This shiit is about to get resolved. Whether through love or through behind the scenes immense pressure.

Have you Yanks not had enough issues to poke your nose in, Literally, every conflict on earth has the telltale signs of American mischief. You are not dealing with Libya, Syria or Palestine for god Sakes, your dealing with India, there is no chance albeit.

.
Pakistan should take Donald Trump up on his offer. He is hell of a negotiator.

If he cannot do it , no other human can ( then only Allah swt can ).

.
We are always willing to accept LOC as the border

Kashmir can be settled in Ten Minutes

You may personally agree to such a plan but lot of water has flown down the Indus since Indira's offer to ZAB which he could not get Pakistan establishment agree to.

Not a single inch of the state of J&K would be accepted to be given today by people of India.

converting LOC as IB is long dead.

Leadership has a price.

The alternative is no one does anything and we have Syria where 470,000 people have died because of Obama's inaction.

Let me play Mr. Trump for a second. "Mr. Modi, I've heard enough of the "we can resolve our issues in the same language", while people have been getting killed and the risk of a nuke war is becoming a reality with every passing day. The US can't let that happen. So we need to resolve it and I'll give you 30 days to come up with an agreement and I'll do the same with the Pakistanis. We'll grantee the results so neither one of you will have issues in the future and nor can anyone break the deal".

Mr. Modi: Mr. Trump, I don't think the Indian people appreciate the US dictating us, we are the largest democracy. We can handle our affairs.

Mr. Trump: Well Mr. Modi, the Indian people would also not appreciate the US pulling out over a trillion dollars worth of business within the next three months, and cancelling over 200,000 H1B's that we don't need as at this point, these tech visas are over capacity and the Americans want their jobs back.

If you want to see your middle-class disappearing, we can make it happen. I don't know how the Indian people will take that. Not to mention, on anything going to India, I am already working on proposing a tax at 45% to promote local hiring in America. But believe me, I want India to be our strategic ally. You guys are one of the smartest people I've met. Amazing country, truly amazing!!

But the thing is, If we can't have leverage with trillions we've spent in India, for jobs that Americans were doing or can do, what's the point if you can't work with us to resolve the most dangerous issue in the world right now? Just take a look at your borders and how many innocent people get killed every month.

Mr. Modi: no answer (having a holly shiit moment). 30 days after, both sides provide proposals, 2-3 months after, Mr. Trump sits in between the two premiers, and signs a deal with the other two's agreement (negotiations had been ongoing for the past three months since Trump's above talk with Modi).

Issue resolve and Kashmiri people don't have to be slaughtered in the name of territory and religion anymore. The world becomes a much safer place.

3 months after that, both India and Pakistan list each other as most favorite nations for trade and India joins the CPEC per Pakistan's request. No more firing on borders, killing of soldiers or scared people on each side. A tourism plan is put in place and both, Indians and Pakistanis start to visit the other side boosting serious tourism and trade on both side. India still becomes a regional power and Pakistan grows as one of the fastest growing nations in the current times. Everyone's happy.

Mr. Trump is DA-MAN, way beyond the superman :enjoy:

He said "Make America great again", but he will be making "Make America great again and help the entire world become great again also". I believe the way he's approaching things, his predecessors will be using his name to get the power after his 8 years. This is how Republicans can stay in the government for the next 30-40 years easy.

Wow. That's some House of cards kind of shit. It's not gonna happen. Writing a story that only depicts trump as pulling out investments from India suits your imagination only.

Just because Trump calls Modi and threatens him, India will handover Kashmir to Pakistan? How naive is it? Au contraire, why not Trump make Pakistan to handover GB to India?
