I guess Russia would bring down both Germany and France because it has a deeper strategic hinterland as well as a better positioned and more lethal military power. Of course, if nuclear war was considered, Russia would turn both into a wasteland.

But, this is not my thesis. My thesis is that Europe would be better off without a NATO. NATO does not provide much security for Europe beyond what they can fend for themselves. NATO is in fact a liability and a drainage on their national treasures because NATO allows the US to for Europe subsidize the US mercenary military.
