Trump-Imran historic meeting

They are treating Pakistan like a lost brother while in last 10 years they had done everything completely opposite

Wonder why should that be so!

Obviously, both sides have found a resumption of the relationship on a better footing to be beneficial, with each side gaining some of what they want and need. This is good, but caution, as always, is a good thing for both sides.

Yaar I have followed his entire visit to US. Gone through his meeting with POTUS, the photoshoot, Institute of peace discussion, the Fox and with Congressmen.

IK shares a lot with Mr. Trump both are not aligned with set diplomatic norms, blunt, targeted by media of their respective countries, adored by many and hated by many and to the point. They are rebels from the set order my take is if they could have first amicable contact they could become excellent friends and allies.

Apparently the meeting went well, way well beyond their expectations, although the real negotiations are being held elsewhere. I think both have weighed each other both have their own needs which have dependence on each other, but the meeting went very well, it will be the stepping stone where both countries will be able to reset their turbulent relationship and start afresh. One thing which really impressed me was the way he represented Pakistan's point of view through a very clear communication without the help of stick-on notes, besides he was not begging for aid or personal favors.

Please understand I am not aligned with any political party, I appreciate people on the basis of merit. I am not a fanboy and not an idol worshiper/blind follower of some stupid notion "following leadership".

Everything/everyone is not alright with current Govt, but after decades we have someone who could present our case at the international forums in a positive way.

Both have similarities and dissimilarities as well. But honestly I'm taken aback by the frankness, politeness and warmth Trump has shown towards Pakistan and he has been saying that "we can shift some of our businesses to Pakistan". "Pakistan is a great nation", "They are really tough people", "We are smart leaders so we should be able to do that".

In fact the Trump has praised Pakistan more than IK praise USA :) Just listen to Trump's words again and again. I hope that this warmth translates into the actions and this comes at a critical juncture. A lot of people were skeptical of this meeting.
