Troops get supplies despite Pak's border closure: Pentagon

It's not our fuel either. So someone must be getting pissy about it. Insurers? Probably insurers are American?

Any idea of the fuel deal..

Its origin is from maybe saudi or any arab nation.. and into tanker ship and then passed to trucks...

NATO pays when it reaches.

Is there any guarentee from Pakistan's part along with transit ?

Or is it insurance? or is it the supplier?

guys.
in order to get rid of pakistani taliban, we have to ensure that they cant brain wash children and common folk by pasting us pro american.
so if you really want ur econmy to go ahead and prosperity you need to
1. tell USA that we like ur war on terror but we cant give our roads to u for SECURITY reasons...a very powerful argument

2. bring political reforms in FATA. bring law to lawless land. of course tribal LEADERS will be against it coz these leaders are enjoying their life in Peshawar while poor are ******* in FATA

3. stop any insurgency form this side. atleast do good propooganda to stop that image...

this will ensure us to gain a good position both internationally and locally..

we should morally support the afgh govt but practically we should do nothing...at moment we are lying ourlifes for them
once we start doing this we would listen the afghn govt pleads trust me.

3.

Their was news two days back that U.S is using Afghan transit trade to get supplies for NATO.

What about Pakistani tankers? Are they insured? If yes, then by whom?

No drone strike since Nov 17, it isn't business as usual for sure. Who cares about American losses? We wish them well, just stay out of Pakistan. Use teleporters for all we care.

That`s right response so far in the thread.... If Pakistan is not interested to give US route then the target achieved after the incident of the soldiers killed by NATO...

Now whatever route NATO takes, Its not a headache of Pakistan...

Oil freighters, merchant ships carries insurance which expires once it reaches the destination port, the second stage of transit which is via road transport would have been undertaken by a Pakistani contractor who has to transport the cargo using his own or hiring market vehicles to its destination, the road transport sector is an unorganized one so I doubt whether he would have taken any insurance cover(even if he does it has to be a local in this case a Pakistani insurance company). The customer pays only after receiving the cargo and inspecting it.
In case of arson the brunt of the losses is to the transporter who loses the vehicles plus the consignee will withhold all payments to him. To get the contract he would have paid a substantial bank guarantee to the consignee to cover the losses in transit which he will forfeit to cover for the cargo loss . The local transporter would have charged a bigger transportation fee considering the risk involved. But end of the day the local transporter is the one who bears the maximum losses.

Yes! The US shold behave as a super power if they think they are and shold not depend on Pakistani supply routes...... It will be a damn shame on them to come beggingup to a poor country like Pakistan to help their @$$ out all the times while they are in trouble in Afghanistan or elsewhere......:smokin:

Berlin Blockade anyone?

So has finally the Pakistani trump card of stopping the supplies gone phusssssssss???

We don't care about them getting supplies or not, as long as we aren't affected by it. And with regards to stopping the supplies, it has made the job of getting supplies to Afghanistan a lot more difficult.

You know......in this case..."I told you so" just wouldn't cut it.

....
Really? The question that arises is till how long can NATO sustain this supply mode. Russia is already looking to take advantage of the situation in order to get some leverage in the missile defense issue.

Berlin Blockade anyone?
thats one of them too.....:smokin:

so U Phusssssssssss now????

Berlin Blockade anyone?
The Berlin airlift was a major effort by the US supply apparatus to supply ONE city. Afghanistan is not exactly the size of Berlin is it now,nor are the locals welcoming the US forces with open arms.
