Btw I am in favor of division of current provinces into division level. This will make governance very easy , but than we will also have to look at the problems that would create just like we see with India , states controling water flow to other states, stopping flow of resources (like oxygen in current time for example). We will have to make sure no such thing arise out of it.

The actual problem is the NO devolution of power in provinces. After 18th amendment we have given so much power to Provinces from the Capital but at the provincial level our politicians are reluctant to implement the same principle.

As we know

- There is no Provincial Finance commission in any province

- There is no divisible poll of provincial revenue in any province

- There is no agreed power sharing formula b/w province and divisions in any Provinces

Just resolve these and we would not be required to make new provinces in Sindh and KPK, these 2 provinces are with right size in terms of population and land mass.

- Punjab due to large size of populations and ever increasing number of cities would be required to be divided in at least 3 provinces as per geographical regions of Northern region which is plateau area, Central region which is fertile plains and South Punjab which semi mountainous and desert area in its west and east while fertile land along the banks of Indus River

- Baluchistan due to its larger size but lower population is required to be divided in provinces in the same manner as it was before the creation of Pakistan that is Markan region, Lasbela State , Northern Baluchistan (which is the most populated region of Baluchistan), but the areas of former Qalat state should be divided in 2 provinces as it is the area whit least population anywhere Pakistan with largest land area in current Baluchistan.

As long as national territorial integrity is being respected, I donot see anything wrong in creation of provinces along ethnic lines..It will give people a sense of pride and ownership in their own province...this might mean half a percent more GDP growth at provincial level

Such is state of fake history in Pakistan that now these tribal nationalist pashtuns have made up their own history. Claiming Chitral, Attock, Mianwali, Hazara region and what not as pashtun land. In fact till 16th century pashtun didn't exist in KP at all. Till 1947 Peshawar was hindko/punjabi city. Tomorrow they will claim Islamabad as pashtun land and portray themselves as victims of punjabi oppression if ISB isn't made part of Pakhtunwa like this tribal MPA is doing.

Sad to say but Pushtoons do suffer from inferiority complex. That is the very reason they keep blaming everything on Punjabis and always try to play an ethnicity card. Not gonna work anymore.

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly lawmaker Mir Kalam Wazir has submitted a resolution in the assembly demanding a single province for all the Pakhtuns in the country.

Mir Kalam Wazir, who was elected to the KP Assembly as an independent candidate from North Waziristan and is close to the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) and Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), in his resolution stated that Pakistan is a federation of different nationalities. “Every nation has its own distinct land throughout its history. I demand that Pashtuns should have a single unit in Pakistan which is their right,” he said in the resolution.

He said Pashtuns have been living on this land for thousands of years. “Their land is divided between two countries. Pashtuns have been divided into different units from the plains of Sibbi to the mountains of Chitral. Balochistan has 13 Pashtun-populated districts that have been separated from Pashtun areas and included in Balochistan province,” he argued.

The lawmaker through the resolution said that Pashtuns had been deprived of their identity for 70 years. He said the third Pashtun-inhabited area that was called Fata and had an autonomous status had been merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province without the consent of the people of the area. “This move was made to end their autonomous status and usurp their natural resources,” he argued.

Mir Kalam Wazir said the fourth part of the Pashtun land are two districts, Attock and Mianwali, that had been historically part of the Pashtun land but were included in Punjab province.

He said that supporting the Hazara province movement manifests anti-Pashtun sentiments. “Therefore, I demand a single Pashtun unit in Pakistan that comprises Attock and Mianwali districts, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, 13 Pashtun districts of Balochistan and ex-FATA and is named as Pashtunkhwa, Pashtunistan or Afghania province,” the resolution demanded.

He said that Pashto should be declared as the official language of the new united Pashtun province.

Aren't Pakistani Punjabis(even Sindhis?) like very genetically and culturally similar to the pashtuns? Why this friction I don't get, is it just the language or maybe over representation of Punjabis in government/military?
