Welcome to Pakistan

Pakistan although a very peaceful and very friendly nation has been very badly hit by the notorious war on terrorism by the countries who always envied the landscape and blessing of the country. The local media the war on terror leaders have now destroyed peace and tranquility of some areas of Pakistan's in a game that no one understands. This game is not an old one similar games (Gilgit Game, Great game) were played on this soil many years ago by similar powers.

I will post guides, routes and destination descriptions of various places of Pakistan - Most Beautiful place on Earth!

Islamabad

Islamabad is beautiful. It is a region-wide symbol of progress, innovation and architectural marvel.

Settlement in Islamabad, the new capital after Karachi, began in the 1960s. As the city was newly founded, the growth of the population was slow. Being the seat of the Government of Pakistan, initially government servants and employees of the federal administration settled here. Since then, there has been a steady growth in the population of the city, which has swelled to somewhere in excess of a million inhabitants. The reason: at the moment, the capital city is the fastest growing urban settlement in the country. There is an increased interest in the city from The President and The Prime Minister, as well as a renewed drive from foreign investors to invest in the city. This has caused a growth in the economy, produced employment at all levels and ensured development. Owing to all these factors, Islamabad is now becoming a lively and bustling metropolis, full of vibrancy.

The fastest growing metropolis in the country, Islamabad is progressing and developing rapidly. The city brims with activities, places to visit, cultural and heritage sites and contains a wealth of entertainment. The universities that cater to a large student population rank alongside some of the best in the country, and indeed in the region.

Quaid-e-Azam University is a premier post-graduate university, with some of the best faculty members and teaching facilities available in the country. In addition, the university also has one of the most picturesque campuses in Asia. Several other places of education have established themselves as the best. These include the International Islamic University boasting a host of international students, Iqra University which also ranks amongst the best, Hamdard University, Preston University, and a score of others. Hospitals and health facilities abound in the city, with at least three comprehensive government hospitals offering the latest, hygienic conditions, namely the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), the Federal Government Services Hospital and the CDA Hospital. There are also private hospitals such as the Islamabad Private Hospital, the Shifa International, and various others like the Naval Hospital and the Air Force Medical facility. These facilities all have comprehensive provisions such as ambulance networks, emergency rooms and specialized departments such as Cardiology, Surgery and Pediatrics.

As Pakistan increasingly finds itself the object of the world media attention, its coverage is frequently based on widespread negative perceptions by the correspondents who parachute in to cover specific events there for brief periods of time. Often, there is little or no context to the "breaking news" of the hour and little understanding of the country, its history and its people. The reporters often go there to find and confirm what they already believe rather than to uncover and learn the big picture of what is really happening there. Their cameras often focus only on a tiny slice of Pakistan that suits the report they want to file. For example, pictures of bearded men carrying weapons or chanting anti-West slogans or women in burkas demanding Shariah laws are often used to symbolize Pakistan. Pakistan does have its share of protesters and extremists, but it has a lot more than that, as some visitors discover.
