Salam Dear Brothers

Firstly, please accept my appologies if a similiar thread has already been posted.

I was referred to this forum by a friend and was told I can find answers to my questions here.

I am currently serving with the UK's Royal Air Force and have recently completed the Elementary Flying Training. Last year I was streamed to fast jet and my fighter pilot training has already begun. I have acquired a number of hours on the Tucano T1 and the BAE Hawk.

Following the recent decisions made by the Uk's new coalition government, drastic changes are being made that involve the scrapping of the UK's entire fast Jet Harrier fleet and the Nimrod. The RAF has now offered voluntary pilot discharge due to the surplus amount of pilots on temporary holding.

Although I am a Flying Officer and my commision will end after 12 years, I have decided to take this opportunity to transfer to the PAF.

So my questions:

1) Am I eligible to apply to the PAF?

2) What are the nationality requirements, as I only hold a British Passport.

3) What is the application procedure?

4) What is the selection procedure?

5) If accepted by the PAF, what rank will I be allocated?

I look forward to hearing your comments and advice.

Thank You

Contact Pakistani Defense Attache at Pakistani Embassy in the UK.

I agree you should definitely try that. Another option would be to contact PAF directly, contact information can be found online.

But first try contacting the Pakistani embassy in UK

No one knows what process you may go through but, I believe you will go through all levels of training even if it is brief. Just to assess how you currently fit in with PAF criteria. If you get to a level where you are assigned to fly Mirages, F-16s or JF-17s you will probably also need training to fly these jets. Basically you will probably be put through basic training to see if you pass, after that you will be in regular raining to be trained to fly a jet if one at all.

You can but being foreign born i doubt they will had you any combat or sensitive position. At best you can be technical analyst, trainers, evaluator, etc etc.

You may have a better chance by claiming to have sensitive information on new battle tactics, WoT or the latest weapon designs :P :P (intended as humor only)

Incidently, the PAF is slated to increase it's JF-17 fleet and new pilots should be very welcome. The pilot gap seems like it's being filled partially, by F-16 pilots transferring over. But as quiet a few squadrons of JF-17 are supposed to be inducted(current aim seems to be 250 aircraft, 18 aircraft per squadron) it becomes unsustainable to keep transferring pilots from the other aircraft fleet, because then they become under-piloted. Especially considering that the PAF is also expanding it's F-16 fleet, and is also slated to induct J-10/FC-20 aircraft in the next couple of years. So new pilots seem to be in high demand.

That being said, you would very likely need to be a "special case" rather than an ordinary run-of-the-mill standard pilot trainee/inductee, and while that does not mean that it should be too hard, it does mean that you'd have to be persistent and creative, and should try multiple avenues to get in touch with the right people. You should also inquire if you need to gain(if you don't already have) Pakistani nationality, because if you do, you could gain dual Pakistani&British citizenship, many many people have that.

I would recommend sending in regular post/mail as well as emailing, PAF's online/web presence does not seem very well-developed, and the institute might be more approachable via regular mail. I don't know *where* you should mail in your letter, but some research on the Internet (and on this forum) could easily answer that. There are some people on this forum who have relatives in the PAF, and could at the very least guide you in the right suggestion. Off the top of my head, someone like Nabil_05 could help, you could private-message him or something.

I hope this is the beginning of a very wonderful, fruitful, and satisfying career for you :)!

You cannot be adopted .that is not good for PAF having a pilot trained by other country having its own intersts
May be you wanna quit the RAG may be you are one of the MI6 guys
any thing possible
you will be welcome in pakistan but not in pakistan air force
you may serve the civil aviation and may get honor for you

this is the most relistic answer i have given to you
dont be angry
look positive and accept what is good for your country pakistan

.
Contact a PAF Selection Center and explain the situation.

.
if some one says that new pilots are needed than pakistanis have alot of interest to become a pilot and they will b more trust worthy than a foreign trained guy serving a different nation
and patriotism cannot be addopted
it is in your blood
you just come here coz situation is not favorable there
that is not a good reason to get some body in Paf
