Traitor Wants To Come Home

That's the whole idea behind 'SECRET'.

Well, under this guise of pretext.. the US government in the past targeted people due to their race, carried out inhumane tortures, subjected innocent people to confinement without reason.. and basically violated everything that this country is supposed to stand for.

I'm surprised if you are ok with the idea of your private calls and emails being tapped just because they can be and you being picked up and locked up just because you can be.

Snowden is a traitor. He is not unique in what he tried to be -- a whistleblower. But other whistleblowers of governmental wrongs did not divulged what secrets they know to hostile countries and to flee to those countries. Their lives were not easy from what they did. But they did not sold out their countries. Yes, Snowden sold out his country and his life is miserable. He is under constant watch. Those who know him in Russia are not his friends, at least not in the way we know what friends are. They know that he is under surveillance and want nothing to do with him other than the most shallow of relationships. He did not revealed just what we may have done wrong in the needs for national security, but also on the methods that we use and the names of people involved. Not everything we did in the needs for national security was wrong.

Since he fled to Russia, he can stay in Russia. If we can barter for him, we should. If we can arrange an 'accident', we should. If we can extradite him through some legal maneuverings with Russia, we should. But we should never allow Snowden to return to the US as a free man.

Edward Snowden 'ready to return to States'

Moscow (AFP) - Edward Snowden, the fugitive whistleblower who has been given refuge in Russia, is willing to return to the United States if he is given a fair trial, his lawyer said Tuesday.

"He is thinking about it. He has a desire to return and we are doing everything we can to make it happen," Anatoly Kucherena, the Russian lawyer who represents the former National Security Agency contractor, told a news conference.

Snowden was given political asylum in Russia in the summer of 2013 after the US revoked his passport. He now leads a reclusive life there.

"With a group of lawyers from other countries, we are working on the question of his return to America," Kucherena said.

"Snowden is ready to return to the States, but on the condition that he is given a guarantee of a legal and impartial trial," he said.

The lawyer said Snowden had so far only received a guarantee from the US Attorney General that he will not face the death penalty.

He said that Snowden is able to travel outside Russia since he has a three-year Russian residency permit, but "I suspect that as soon as he leaves Russia, he will be taken to the US embassy."

Kucherena's comments came at a presser where he presented a thriller loosely based on his encounters with Snowden.

US filmmaker Oliver Stone has bought the rights to the book as he prepares to shoot a biopic about Snowden starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

He faces life in prison in the U.S. and he STILL wants to get out of Russia. HAHAHAHAHAHA !!! Not a good ad for Russian tourism. You just know Stone will make the scum out to be a hero of some sorts. Two behind the ear and a shallow hole in the Pine Barrens. That's the 'Welcome Home' gift I'd like to give him, although maybe keeping him in Russia is a worse fate.:triniti:
the guy is a hero.... i think if the government were to prosecute him then they would receive lot of backlash.

Is that doctor in Pakistan still considered a traitor trying to find Bin Laden?

Ha Sir a respectable person like you tried to twist the fact can never be swallowed by me. Indeed that Motha Foka Dr. is a traitor because in order to find a universal Ar$$ Hole this Son of a H0re has jeopardise a whole polio drive. I don't give a rat about that Fakin terro but I care about the children of my nation who are now facing the agony for that bas^ards work.
If I got a chance I would hang him with his balls and those too who have disclosed the fact that how that operation had been taken place.

well.... he will return as a free man.... weather the redneck cracker likes it or not...... Snowden is a hero and god bless him for exposing the wrong doings of the government.... his actions in no way harmed our security but only embarrassed our government for its wrong doings.

Let him come back and burry him in a cell for the rest of his life.Disgusting traitor he is.

US reputation is now permanently damaged, mission accomplished agent Snowden.

What Snowden wanted to do show was right, how he did it was wrong.

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort

He did not aid the enemy nor gave them comfort except in showing that the US government was acting as the enemy of its own people and violating the fourth amendment blatantly.
I call this being naive.

Unless you know exactly what Snowden gave to the Russians and the Chinese, you have no grounds to cite the law in trying to exonerate him from the charge. Do you really believe that the only thing Snowden revealed to the Russians and the Chinese is how the NSA spied on US citizens ?

. .
I think the reason why he wants to return to US is basically trying to pull a "martyrdom" act - even if he simply ends up in prison, that would be seen by his followers as an act of political martyrdom.

I never thought I'd see a day when @boomslang behind a government run by a Socialist, Empty Chair, Dictator-ous, Muslim. :usflag:

Most files leaked by Snowden weren't how the NSA collected or intercepted data, but ongoing military operations, interrogation techniques, procedures on creating foreign operatives, gathering data.

Snowden didn't just release files from US intelligence, but also UK, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. 'The Five Eyes'. His leaks torn apart the British apparatus, and is still causing havoc in Australia.

This guy is a washout Army Reservist who couldn't hold on to his security guard job at U of MD, and was given a job and trained by CIA. He specifically quit his six-figure job at Dell so he could leak NSA files by getting a job at Booz Allen.

People don't want to know how the government is keeping them safe. They just want to be kept safe, have to worth not about the next terrorist attack, but what color dress looks good on them for their fifth wedding anniversary, or whether there's milk at home.

People don't want the government to have information about them? While they are ready to provide information to; Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Twitter, Apple, Farmville. Corporations that willingly sell that information to third-parties. It's just hypocrisy.

It's not like the NSA sat and listened to or read over gathered phone calls or emails, there were algorithms running that highlighted specific words, phrases, gps locations based on raw intelligence gathered in the field.

He can just kill himself and say the NSA did it.
