There is difference between fake(unlicensed generic) drugs and unsafe tainted spurious drugs.

Put your nationalist ego aside for once and think about all the people who are at the risk from cancer causing Chromium tainted capsules. 77 Million is no small number!

I never found the document or study that said 75% of Indian drugs being fake.

still is the king

India becomes a hub for fake medicines

Washington Post

NEW DELHI -- Private investigator Suresh Sati rattled off the popular brand names listed on the boxes of cough syrup, supplements, vitamins and painkillers sprawled across the desk and shelves in his basement office.

"They look real, but all these are fakes," said Sati, head of a New Delhi-based agency that helps police conduct raids against counterfeit-drug syndicates across the country. "A regular customer cannot make out if a drug is fake. ... The biggest giveaway is when someone is selling medicines very cheap. It is almost always fake."

India, the world's largest manufacturer of generic drugs, has become a busy center for counterfeit and substandard medicines. Stuffed in slick packaging and often labeled with the names of such legitimate companies as GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer and Novartis, the fake drugs are passed off to Indian consumers and sold in developing nations around the world.

Experts say the global fake-drug industry, worth about $90 billion, causes the deaths of almost 1 million people a year and is contributing to a rise in drug resistance.

Estimates vary on the number of these drugs made in India. The Indian government says that 0.4 percent of the country's drugs are counterfeit and that substandard drugs account for about 8 percent. But independent estimates range from 12 to 25 percent.

Indian officials say the clandestine industry has hurt the image of India's booming pharmaceutical industry and its exports, worth $8.5 billion a year, mostly to African and Latin American countries.

That report is about unlicensed is about unlicensed generic copies, thats what fake means in that case, and in any case is outdated(8 years old). Apparently according to that report 75% of counterfiet drugs(read unlicensed generic copies) in the world came from India

In latest news.

China ... an expert says it is the No.1 source of counterfeit drugs.

He said China was the number one source of counterfeit drugs last year, followed by Jordan, the United States, Israel and Canada.

So China has overtaken India.

Well this thread wasn't about generic copies of medicines.

77 Million capsules in China have been tainted with carcinogenic chromium! For those who don't know carcinogenic substance can cause caner!

LOllllllll Comparing China bullet train to Indian Taxi........
Firstly I don't Agree with your Inference .....
China------->
Economic reforms taking advantage of market principles began in 1978 and were carried out in two stages. The first stage, in the late 1970s and early 1980s, involved the decollectivization of agriculture, the opening up of the country to foreign investment, and permission for entrepreneurs to start up businesses.

India------> Started its Economic Reform In 1991..(.20 yrs after china)...They have a 20 yr lead on us...

It like comparing two student one is in Tenth Grade and One is Eight grade class.....And u declare Tenth grade student more intelligent coz he knows more that the Eight grade guy.....Its no a fair comparision..But there is no harm in taking them as benchmark to see ur progress..

From Milk to Peas, a Chinese Food-Safety Mess - NYTimes.com

HONG KONG — There’s mercury in the baby formula. Cabbages are sprayed with formaldehyde. Gelatin capsules for pills, tens of millions of them, are laced with chromium. Used cooking oil is scooped out of gutters for recycling, right along with the sewage.

Accounts of dubious or unsafe food in China are as mesmerizing as they are disturbing — “artificial green peas,” grilled kebabs made from cat meat, contaminated chives, chlorine showing up in soft drinks.

There have been stories of imitation soy sauce made from hair clippings, ink and paraffin being used to dress up cheap noodles, and pork buns so loaded with bacteria that they glow in the dark.

A new investigation by the Chinese magazine Caixin has found that “these publicized food safety scandals represent only a fraction of unsafe food production practices. Hundreds of chemical food additives are pumped into products that Chinese people consume every day.”

Things are so bad that a new iPhone app was recently launched to track food safety nationwide. The app, which sends out daily updates on the latest food scandals, was reportedly downloaded more than 200,000 times in the first week.

In 2008, infant formula and other milk products were found to be contaminated with melamine, an industrial chemical used to make fertilizer and plastic pipe. Six children died and some 300,000 fell sick.

75% is not just king; it's emperor..

When have chinese cheerleaders on topic? :D
We dont need to argue with them guys.. The whole world knows, who is producing counterfeiting drugs with govt CCP support..

This is what Jeffrey L. Gren Director of the Office of Health and Consumer Goods (OHCG) within the U.S. Department of Commerce, has to say about counterfeits

Counterfeiting, according to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), is a US$200 billion global industry. The counterfeiting of APIs is a potentially deadly industry, and according to Gren “China is ground zero for this problem.”

Ms. Jeannie Salo, Director of Global Anti-Counterfeiting, International Government Affairs at Eli Lilly and Chair of the PhRMA Anti-counterfeiting Task Force, Mr. JunGuo Hao, Regional Director - Asia Pacific, Global Security Team of Pfizer, and Ms. Lim Chin Chin, Director, Singapore Health Science Authority all agrees with Jefferey Gren.

fact 1: chinese has longer life expectancy than indians

Only if they don't take their poisnous vaccines, drink poisnous milk, eat poisnous food..

Those are from China who are using "made in india". Chinese are marketing these fake drugs in Africa with "made in India" label.

you've been brain washed by indian propaganda that's why most of you don't know india is the king of fake substandard medicines.

there are fakes drugs in china. true. but the overall scale are pale in comparison to india. there is a reason why average chinese live longer than indians. this is facts. lol.. you hear a lot of news, because people like bashing communist china. even a fake iphone developed by some no-name in some alley in china has more headline news internationally than hundred of people died in train accidents. this is also fact.

india is still the king
