Not really our Army is set up on Western pattern with a lot of Chinese influence.

Not right now, maybe when the manpower heavy CI Ops end, in the next few years, personally I think that the Army is the right size, remember we are a nation of nearly 200 million people, with many local and foreign problems, also with natural disasters every now and then, a large force is necessary.

But from what I have heard and seen, the thinking is to get more bang for the buck, more retired and civilian workers will do the more non martial jobs, with automation and digitization, we will have more soldiers, gunners, cavalry on the front line and that process has already begun, with no soldiers doing non military work, in PM era.
