Top US analyst: We made 5 dangerously wrong assumptions about China

By embracing white imperialist of USA?

After yours, the Americans and their European lackeys will fall, so is your Russian friend.

Hell, I would rather have the UN replace SCO and NATO.

China will stay on top for at least 200 years. Unless you got to live more than 200 years. You will be rule under a world of Chinese :D

I am free to rebel from your red imperial rule. I would rather be an insurgent than to kowtow to your rule. :cheesy:

And since some of you love bringing up the past, maybe your rule will be like the Qin Dynasty... which lasted only two decades. :cheesy:

It is Michael Pillsbury who is practicing deception here.

Does he think anyone will actually believe that America never worried about us being a potential rival?

Remember how fast the Soviets and Americans stopped their technological support to China during the Cold War? The former during the Sino-Soviet split and the latter during the later part of the 1980's.

Both of them realized very quickly that we might become future rivals, we only had a handful of years each before their support was withdrawn. Hardly enough time to learn what we needed.

Sun Tzu's Art of War is no secret, in fact it is required reading in many militaries across the world. Americans in particular are masters of this game.

Look how the USA was accusing China of hacking, just a few days before Edward Snowden came out, and revealed it was in fact America who was hacking and intercepting global communications on an unmatched scale.

Gall you say? No, it is a very deliberate and strategic policy, America wants to paint itself as the weak victim of Chinese hacking when in reality they are hacking the entire world, even their own allies like Germany threw out their officials after they found they were spying on them too.

BBC News - Germany expels CIA official in US spy row

China still needs about 10 more years at least to consolidate our current economic and military transformation. Let the Americans get bogged down in the Middle East and Ukraine again, that will give us plenty of time to strengthen ourselves.

But no doubt these games of deception will continue.

Excellent analysis.

US clearly desired to make another lackey out of China and, with the opening up and China's eventual UN membership, got duped into it, but, the later events put a serious dent (strategic mistrust) between the two nations with the US actively supporting the fifth-columns inside China and placing sanctions.

There is no way China and US would be strategic partners. This is against the nature. They are(with China's rise) bound to compose their own historical blocs. That may herald a more stable and peaceful world because no bloc would take on the other without risking its own survival.

China is well-versed to US political games. Each passing day, the chance of the US to weaken China is getting slimmer. I agree, China needs another ten something years. Then, everybody will be happy to be born and living in that time around.

Let's hope the US will remain bogged down in the Middle East and North Africa for the next ten years.

Following wise advice from an age old book by Mao was much better than what the US and Cie was following and practicing; a.k.a Machiavelli politics...
China's global hegemony will /is economical much more than military, and that contrasts with the Western war and violence driven Hegemony.

The funniest part of the opening article is the marathon one, where China is supposedly driving its energy to run from the leading US runner... which translates to the Chinese runner (China) is grabbing the US runner (US) by its shirt or even jumping on its back and getting carried by him! That defies logic and any common sense.

The article is full of frustrations (Regrets), as China is closing the gap on the US in mostly every field.

NOBODY?are you presenting the everyone?why you are so confident to say that .....how stupid you are

Indians use their own incompetence to compare with other countries. They thought they are superior to China. But then reality hit them and realised Chinese are not incompetent and inefficient like Indians.

So they are surprised when China beats them. But people that have witnessed China and India over the years will see how backward India truly is compared to China.
