PESHAWAR - Afghan security forces have killed one of the top Pakistani Taliban commanders along with at least 10 other militants in a border area operation, sources said Sunday.

Raees Khan, also known as Azam Khan Tariq, had a 20 million rupee ($190,740) bounty on his head and was the fourth-highest ranking commander in the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

“I confirm the killing of Azam Tariq along with at least 10 other Pakistani Taliban in Paktika province,” a senior commander loyal to Tariq told AFP, requesting anonymity.

The nature of the operation was unclear, but three sources in the militant group said Tariq and his associates were killed in the Laman area of the Afghan province, which is near Pakistan’s South Waziristan region.

Tariq worked as chief TTP spokesman from 2009 until 2013 and was a close aide to former TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud, who was killed in a US drone strike in Pakistan in 2013.

In 2009 the Pakistani government offered $5 million for information leading to the capture of TTP commanders.

Tariq was top of the list as three other commanders had been killed - either in US drone strikes or in Pakistani military operations.

He had been working as spokesman for the Mehsud faction of the TTP prior to his death.

Pakistan has demanded that Kabul hand over fugitive TTP chief Maulana Fazlullah, who is reportedly hiding in eastern Afghanistan.

Both nations have accused each other of allowing militants to shelter in the border regions and launch bloody attacks that threaten regional stability.

- No distinction between good and bad for us, unlike some in the region.

So that's why former NDS chief and Afghan officials cheer their attacks on Twitter?

https://en.dailypakistan.com.pk/wor...ce-head-says-badaber-attack-is-a-tit-for-tat/

The key word here is "former", who cares what a former NDS chief says on twitter ( is it even his account), what matter is a policy, a state policy where by Afghanistan has chosen its values as a democratic state, and not acting as breeding ground for good and bad talis, though we are currently under attack through Burka offensive.

So that's why you provide treatment in government hospitals to TTP fighters and let them move around freely with government and ANA consensus.

In Nangarhar, over a year ago, the vanguard of the movement was a group of Pakistani militants who had lived there for years as ‘guests’ of the Afghan government and local people.

ribal elders and ordinary residents of Achin, Nazian and Kot testify that fighters from Orakzai and Mohmand agencies belonging to different factions of the TTP have been allowed free movement across the province, as well as treatment in government hospitals.

Gradually, the muhajerin turned out to be more than solely oppressed civilians in pursuit of humanitarian assistance. They carried weapons and displayed allegiance to Pakistani militant groups. Hoping to use them against Pakistan, the Afghan government started to woo some of these fighters, according to influential tribal elders involved in helping relation-building from the districts that sheltered the guest militants.

Still think you have no policy of good and bad terrorists??? You have this policy since 1947.

Usual diatribe coming from Pakistan. Anyways we don't really care whether you accept the fact that we don't make the distinction or not. We know we don't make a distinction, the world knows.

You can continue playing with snakes, but you do know the nature of the snakes.

Done discussing this with ya, no more dancing in circles. Take care man/woman.

The source is Afghan. It is an afghan research which tells us about nexus that exists between TTP and Afghan government. Presenting facts and proofs might be diatribe in Afghanistan but not here.

You have anything to deny this?? Obviously no. You have nothing. Even this attack is done by your real rulers aka USA and not your government. Your government can't even secure Kabul let alone attacking TTP in Paktika.

Isnt that by standards from your side What democratic state are you talking about the one where the state doesnt even 50% of land

If hes a former chief meant he supported these policies when he was in the power
As for good and Bad Current Military force had so many times no more good or bad Support
So it works both way
When former chief these kind same happens from pakistan most of the stuff who are talking about good and bad are retired already

TTP is the bad side supported by Afghanistan but now they are waking up to reality..My thumbs up to Afghanistan for this kill! Well done Afghanistan!

So when are you taking out Fazalullah.

Mullah Fuzllah will be taken out as soon he has given up his strategic value or goes renegade or Zarb Azb forces him to sh1t his shalwar..
