and how do these indian bikes compare to their japanese counterparts in terms of reliability?
any kind of opinion would help

These bikes are almost as reliable as their Japanese counterparts. They will give you more power/torque for your money than the Japanese ones.
On the flip side, the finish and refinement is better on the Japanese.

TVS bikes are pretty reliable.. I have one. I can vouch.

Very true. I've an Apache RTR 180, 8 years and it's still Golden.

u sure? i often hear how unreliable bajaj bikes are

In my family I am the 3rd Generation Bajaj user, though not a higher end bike user, but we have Pulsar, Discover at home using for past 5 years and have no issues.

I consider Bajaj has slight edge over TVS.

BAJAJ Is Good but has Quality Issues , TVS has little better Quality in direct comparison
