I don't see any such source that proves your claim.

By that logic, you belong to Arabs and Persians. You accept that? So, save it, he got nothing to do with Pakistan rather than you naming warship in his name. He ruled in the South, he's part of our history.

No, that doesn't work since Persian and Arab admixture (for most of us) comes from far too long ago to make us Persian or Arab, where as Tipu's was quite recent (it was his grandfather).

Anyway, I'm not trying to discredit any attachment you southies have to him, just know that we have one too on very justifiable grounds.

I stopped reading from the fact that he comes from the Sayyid lineage. It's some old dude, making claims for his proposed Arab ancestry. Mind you, even his claims are to connect him to Arab not some Punjabi in Pakistan.

Tipu was two generations past the supposedly Punjabi guy. And his appearance wasn't that of a Punjabi either. So....

His grandfather was Punjabi, this is undisputed historical fact. As for him being a Sayyid, nobody knows for sure how legitimate his claims were.

What do you mean he didn't look Punjabi? You get dark Punjabis too (albeit in pretty small quantities).
