Tips for learning Mandarin

Hi, I am trying to learn Mandarin. I am studying it at a very slow pace as I am in no hurry to learn it. Do you guys have any tips that would be helpful for an absolute beginner like me? Currently I am using Duolingo to learn Mandarin.

There should be a lot of resources and learning videos on Youtube. Also, watch media content from China as well.

Study, study hard, then study hard even more. Quizlet has a vast number of Chinese language flash cards.

Is that traditional Mandarin? I am learning simplified Mandarin.
