Time to shun the past

They use harsher and more crude language against Pakistan itself, let alone US.

Well, I appreciate your perspective. I guess harshness and crudity is in the eye of the beholder. Just peruse several of the posts of A1Kaid and then let's debate about who is the "most" maligned. I suppose, though, who is the greatest "victim" of the irhabis is not a contest anyone would want to win.

I have followed and the language is not conducive to conversation. An insight into the mindset was offered by Fundamentalist when he said to you that according to "Islam", it's not about country, but "islam" - by which we must admit, to such as these Pakistan is nothing - but then again, the intellect progenitors of this ideology use to refer to Pakistan, as Napak-istan. It's sad.

Muse, I love your sentiments bro. May our tribe increase .... on both sides.

Cheers, Doc

^^^ I think this was a same troller, who was here few days ago trying to start flambating on this site. Kudos to Mods for banning this jerk. I dont think he was even Pakistani.

we are so stuck-up in our past anamosities, that a comment by anyone to start thinking "out-of-the-box" gets derided by majority of the people on both sides because it is so difficult to step out of one's "comfort zone".

all it really requires for both "Leaders" of our countries to sit in a room for a half/day without their "baboos" and thrash out their issues - set priorities so that the establishments of both countries then can meet to thrash-out the details. whenever there is a "deadlock" the "Leaders" step-in to resolve the issues.

It has got to start from the Top! if we expect the "baboos" on both sides of the border to settle all the problems, then we can forget it because they are trained not to facilitate but to derail (baboos have their own agendas to keep).

remember the "Leaders" of our countries have been mandated by the people to be their representatives and whatever they decide should be acceptable to the 1.3 billion people on both sides of the border!

Very rightly said, unfortunately, this can never happen.....Simply for 2 reasons:

1) Any leader who settles the Kashmir issue through a compromise for his/her country will end up committing a political suicide and if not, could possibly even be assasinated....Hence I feel there is none with the political will to settle this....Musharaff being a dictator could have....but lacked a counter from India
Us Desis are very short sighted and selfish..We dont think of the future benefits....only whats here and now....Its all or nothing....diplomacy is not one of our traits....
2) The Kashmir conflict benefits many countries....US, UK, China, Russia, France through Arms trade....etc etc..
I hardly think that these powerhouses will let go of such lucrative business.....

The first point is a definite....the 2nd one is sort of speculation I feel..anyways...feel free to comment

well even yesterday ajmal kasab was told by the judge....

PAKISTANI NATIONAL MOHAMMED AJMAL KASAB do you plead guilty!!

i mean seriously....why such emphasis on the nationality terrorists have no nationality.....

the problem with india is that it speaks of friendship but when things start porgressing and difficulties arise it just takes everything back to sqaure one!!!

friendship with india will be benefical only if the distrust and back stabbing by india ends....

till november i was of the opinon india is not our enemy...things can be good come december and again i felt we are back in the 90s with india blaming us and MEDIA drama!!!

I agree with you that Terrorists have no nationality....But its hard to differentiate when an organization thats internationally recognized as a militant group...are referred to as "freedom fighters" by Pakistan and their actions against innocent civilans justified under pretext of the dispute that has nothing to do with the civilians massacred....

You have to agree, that LET and its mignions were the brainchild of the Pakistani establishment (State)....Just because you disowned them now or if they are allowed to change their name and operate under the banner of a charitable organization does not mean that suddenly Pakistan is on the Indian side of the fence....

Confidence building measures need to be put in place and only after that can relations be normalized....

but friendship and trust is a two way street.....So when you say backstabbing.....if you consider '71 to be a backstab, then Operation Gibraltar, Kargil etc should also be under the same banner.....
How do you expect India to trust you when we have issue of our own?

And the video of the little girl spreading venom is quite similar to some of the speeches made by JUD, LET commanders publicly....even Zaid Hamid spreads such venom....Why are the words of this girl portrayed as an example of Indian Mentality or our devious ways?

but friendship and trust is a two way street

you have answered your questions !!!

So you agree with me....that Pakistan accusing India of backstabbing, etc is unwarranted and that both parties are guilty of the same....depending on whose perspective you look at.....

I am glad we see eye to eye!!
