Time for India to Take Down Dawood Ibrahim

ab to hum khud kisi din usko maar daleen gay sala na marta hai na jaan chorta hai :hitwall:

Karichi mein mafia aur target killing isne hi chalu kiya hoga.

There are two reasons that India or US will not do some covert op to take down Dawood like the OBL:.....

First, there is much difference between a small town like Abottabad(OBL hideout) and a city like Karachi(Dawood's possible hideout)

And second, OBL wasn't our man. GOP and/or ISI didn't concerned whether he remains alive or dead. But Dawood is our man, and both the US & india know that his death will not be tolerated like OBL.

I hear that he has been shifted to the border regions, so most likely he has been transferred under protection of the talon or some safeedback houses of isi.

Dawood Ibrahim is perhaps the most notorious “underworld don” in South Asia, involved in everything from supporting terrorist organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba and now Boko Haram to organized crime and even fixing cricket matches. Dawood’s connection to al-Qaeda, allowing the use of his smuggling routes out of Afghanistan into Pakistan, made him a U.S. Treasury Department’s Specially Designated Terrorist in 2003. He is also wanted by INTERPOL. Most recent reporting has Dawood and his criminal syndicate D-Company headquartered in Pakistan under the protection of the Pakistani ISI.

The U.S. has not involved itself in any military action to take down Dawood or D-Company, but has restricted itself to placing Dawood and his leadership on Treasury Department sanctions lists. The threat D-Company poses to U.S. national security is not often discussed domestically; rather, the focus is on the terrorist groups financed by D-Company. But with the recent announcement by al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri that the terrorist outfit is creating an India branch, and with the proliferation of jihad throughout South Asia, will the U.S. now finally act to take down Dawood Ibrahim?

Unlikely. U.S. President Barack Obama has had no problem sending in special operations forces or conducting UAV strikes to take out major terrorist leadership, especially in a country like Pakistan that hosts more terrorists than any other country in the world. The list of figures killed in U.S. strikes includes Osama bin Laden, Abu Yahya al-Libi, Anwar al-Awlaki, and Hakimullah Mehsud, the former leader of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan. Even though Dawood Ibrahim in on a par with these figures in terms of lethality and influence, his support of terrorism has not directly reached the U.S. homeland. It will not be until there is a major attack in India with direct evidence of Dawood’s involvement that the U.S. will become more involved.

The U.S. economic and security relationship with India is of increasing importance, as evidenced during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to the U.S. The joint U.S.-India statement mentioned the goal of, “dismantling of safe havens for terrorist and criminal networks, to disrupt all financial and tactical support for networks” for groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and D-Company. It was also reported that the FBI and India’s Intelligence Bureau will begin swapping intelligence on asset sharing by D-Company in the hope of dismantling the organization. Still, it is unlikely that the U.S. action will go beyond this cooperation, at least for the time being.

An Indian official reported that India plans to seek U.S. assistance in extraditing Dawood from Pakistan. Similar statements have been made in previous years, without U.S. response. In fact, it seems unlikely that Washington would push Pakistan on Dawood’s extradition, for fear of inflaming already tense relations with Islamabad and the U.S. desire to continue counterterrorism operations after it exits Afghanistan.

Clearly, India will need to continue to build and grow its own apparatus if it is to take down D-Company. Over the past 20 years, Dawood has wreaked havoc in India, through direct support for proxy militant groups that have killed hundreds of people and cost the state millions of dollars. And now with intelligence reports of an imminent attack on India’s airports and the potential for a combined AQIS-SIMI attack during the holiday season, it is time for India to consider action against D-Company. Pakistan, which still denies that the underworld leader is operating within its borders, will not provide India with any intelligence or assistance and the U.S. will continue to act in a limited secondary support role. Still, however difficult it may be to take down Dawood Ibrahim, it has never been more in the interests of India’s national security to do so.

Time for India to Take Down Dawood Ibrahim | The Diplomat

What this opinion piece highlights is that the US and Indian intelligence and counter terrorism agencies are planning to do a number on Pakistan or specially Pakistan sponsored assets....He was recently tracked to have been moved to somewhere new the afghan border by isi. There could be a possibility that he is being tracked and kept under surveillence by the CIA.

The US should just go ahead and ask name a price from India in return for sending a hell fire up this mofo's @Ss.

In order to extradite Dawood Ibrahim, Pakistan and India need to have extradition treaty. Since we know Dawood Ibrahim will be hanged to death, it is against the international norms to extradite in this case (very difficult), and India will have to negotiate extradition treaty. But for that to happen, India has to sit down and talk with Pakistan. It's not going to be one way street. The day ISI knows dawood ibrahim is a goner, they'll kill him themselves.

No such overt/covert blackmailing is going to work Pal. Pak will gradually lose all such "cards" because of their limited shelf life.

Why are Indians so obsessed with one Muslim called Dawood Ibrahim? Its not some Bollywood movie of villains and heroes. Go hunt him down in Dubai if you want.

That's a step forward. First you Paks say/said OBL was not in Pakistan and the the might US short circuited the process for you that in a hurry you had to make a lot of admissions including hosting him as an esteemed army/isi guest.

Same with Dawood. First he doesn't live in Pak. When it becomes tenable no more ( the guy who from dawn/geo/... broke a story of his being yet another esteemed guest of your esteemed agencies living lavishly in Karachi ..... Poor guy got roughed up real bad. Same with ajmal qasab of Mumbai 26/11 fame ( though in reverse )) more fancy statements such as these start pouring in. It has become a very boring and lame sequence of events due to their predictable outcomes.

Lets indict him in Blasphemy..If indian intelligence is smart they will sure know their way!

OK i think you need to check your trackers or you should not take your politicians seriously before elections.

And here comes India's US envy again. It's hilarious to see that Indians have talking about just taking Dawood from Pakistan, or even taking Pakistan's nukes, ever since the US killed OBL. Face it India, you are not the US. You do not have stealth choppers, you do not have the ability to lie about 'we're just conducting an exercise near your borders' and neither do you have any of the political strength to do it.

You step into Pakistani territory, first thing that's gonna happen is that the PAF is gonna blow your stuff out of the sky, possibly followed by a rapid escalation on the borders. Not something you want to do.

The only realistic way India can get Dawood Ibrahim is by negotiating for an extradition, which of course is not very likely.

It's from The Diplomat, not sure why but lately almost all their articles on India-Pakistan have been completely full of BS.
