Tiger of Sargodha: Story of Wing Commander Hasnat - one of the best pilots PAF has ever produced

We do not have the sufficient data to analyze his actions on that fateful day. Drawing conclusions on the pilots's intentions and abilities based on third party eye witness is counter productive. One can easily arrive at the wrong conclusion.

I have nothing more to say on this topic except May Allah grant the pilot a high place in Jannat.

The ejection seats were then upgraded to Martin Baker ejection seats.

Exactly, PAF performed many modifications on F6. Further, I heard that even simultaneous operation of all 3 cannons was forbidden as the aircraft tends to stall?

Are you seriously taking the views of the spectators about the flying display (which is meant to showcase both the aircraft's and pilot's abilities) to gauge whether the pilot was doing something suicidal? Do you know the circumstances of the crash or what he faced in the cockpit? I think you should stop trying to prove your point using this incident as an example as you can only speculate what actually happened and if the pilot actually went past the aircraft performance envelope ... unless you are an expert on F-6s and can give us some quantifiable numbers and parameters and then compare those to his display.

Hi,

If you cannot read it in the text---then that is your problem---. I unsderstood loud and clear what the pilot was doing---.

There is one big no no---when you are displaying your flying skills to foreigners to show them that you are able and capable to fly modern aircraft---you don't make moves that tend to kill you---.

I mean to say---who was the pilot trying to impress---? He was show boating---tried to do something that the plane was not meant to do and paid with his life---.

A useless loss of life---.

What is so difficult to understand---.

How can he be a martyr---he was fighting no enemy---he just over did his display in an aircraft that was least forgiving---and cost the nation a lots of money and a fine fine pilot---.

I knew the family way back then. He was a very calm, yet intense person to meet, not a junooni by any measure. The F-6 was known as a widowmaker in the beginning given its tendency to flame out at high AoA which often took the pilot by surprise. More experience with the platform improved overall safety and performance to the extent that it gave an outstanding performance even against F-15s some time later, again in Sargodha.
So u are trying to say he didnt do it by passion, was pushed into it by paf

Sir,

That was 'suicide'---. The officer had no right of 'Junoon'---he was a serving member of the air force---the nation had spent millions on his training---.

He was a servant of the state---and obligated to act within reason when there was no obvious threat to the integrity of the nation.

Military service members cannot go half cocked or full cocked and lay down their lives just like that.
I agree like when a muslim is told dont spend too much time in tahajjud ibadat that it effects ur health, our body has limitations. Same goes for other things too.

But as of this scenario ,the original post cant exactly be taken as an authentic source. Secondly, i dont think he would have performed these maneuvers without them being preplanned ,it could be he was told to perform them? And he was just taking commands?

Hi,

--you don't make moves that tend to kill you---.

I mean to say---who was the pilot trying to impress---? He was show boating---tried to do something that the plane was not meant to do and paid with his life---.

I am still confused what you mean by these two following remarks. What moves are you talking about that in an airplane would kill you? I can say flying in a level flight can potentially kill you if something goes wrong.

And second, what did he do that the plane was not meant to do. Can you expand on this?
