Tiger appears at Margala walking track

:what: you never seen??

BTW it is a Cheeta and not snow leopard

Cheetahs are only in sub-saharan africa. Leopards are found in Pakistan in the Himalayas and snow leopards are pretty common in the Hindu Kush range

Snow leopards are a true beauty in the cat species. They're so rare and special, indeed a treasure of the earth.

Oops. I love to do hiking and trekking on Margalla Hills :victory:

It must have been an adventure :pop:

Btw, on a serious note, thank God no harm is caused by the tiger. CDA should take some imperative steps to prevent people from any tragedy happening in future.

ISLAMABAD: Sudden appearance of a leopard at Track V of Margalla Hills in front of Judges’ Colony created fear in the area on Sunday. Two hikers - Bilal and Kareem - informed the Secretariat police that they saw a leopard a few meters away from the track and immediately called police for help. The appearance of the beast near jogging track was creating fear among the hikers and general public. “It was fearful but an excitement experience as we saw the beast roaming in a natural environment for the first time, “said the hikers, adding they were happy to live near natural jungle. Hakim Khan, Secretariat Police SHO, said soon after receiving the information, a police team went to the track to evacuate it from the hikers. He said the police team brought three hikers down safely before the sunset. When contacted, Capital Development Authority (CDA) Member Environment Mazhar Hussain said due to the efforts of CDA, the leopards were coming back to Margallah Hills where they used to come in winter. He said, “Leopard is not alien in Margallah Hills.” He said the CDA created safe and natural environment for these animals so that they can come back to their natural winter houses. He said there were reports of five to six pairs of leopards being present on the hills. He said for the safety of hikers and joggers, the CDA had installed warning notices on the track. He said such animals were not harmful in daylights but could be dangerous at night. The residents of Saidpur, Gokina, Gokina Kurd and other villages felt insecure because of presence of these animals. They said the CDA and police should inform the villagers of presence of these animals and the safety precautions necessary in this regard. Muhammad Kareem, a resident of Saidpur, said they had heard some rumors that leopards were steeling small animals from the zoo. He said, “We have already taken precautionary measures in nights and locked our hen and sheep before the sunset.” He said they did not want to kill leopards but the government should erected fences around the villages to save them from beasts.
