I like the idea of that mosque on the sea in Morocco. That's a beautiful sight, but also brings in cool wind when praying which is very needed in Middle East hot weather. Anyways I think I once read a hadith that the Prophet said we will begin styling our mosques but not worshipping or something like that...

Same all around Muslims world with exception of some places, Fajr prayer usually is only few rows. Not in West I mean overseas. In West we have work/school early and the mosques are pretty far from us maybe 20min driving distance. Back overseas there is one every block.

Did you know that Faisal Mosque's architectural plan was in-fact meant for Ankara and the one built in Ankara was for Pakistan? They swapped the plans as the size of Faisal Mosque could not be accommodated in Ankara!

The foundations of this mosque were laid down by Sultan Ghayas-ud-Din Ghori in 1200, after which it was extended, amended and repaired in the subsequent eras. Although the mosque was damaged during the Anglo-Afghan wars in the 19th century.
