Three NDS Officers Killed While Defusing Bomb In Herat

The NDS said the explosion happened when the technical team was trying to defuse explosive devices.

Three officers from Herat’s Directorate of National Security (NDS) lost their lives in an explosion happened whole defusing an IED embedded to a vehicle, the NDS confirmed in a statement.

The explosion happened on Friday afternoon at around 4pm Kabul time inside an NDS facility in the province.

The NDS in a statement said Herat NDS personnel had identified a vehicle on which explosive devices were embedded and the technical team was trying to defuse the explosives when the blast happened.

The statement confirmed that three members of the technical team lost their lives and two others were wounded.

Officials from Herat provincial hospital, however, said five people were killed and four others wounded in the explosion and that they have been taken to the hospital.

Story doesn't make sense. Why would NDS Officers be defusing a bomb? I have a feeling this was a targeted killing...vengeance for NDS activities in Balochistan??

Yes. Like Dostum, he was a brutal warlord who knew nothing but how to shoot an AK and to kill civilians.
